Hey guy,

I really need advice please

unfortunately i have an oil leak:cry: I have been told its the rear main seal? and that it is a huge job either remove engine or gearbox to replace the seal.

So i thought for now i could use liqui moly oil saver? until i get enough cash to replace the seal. what are your thoughts on this?

I have been wanting to do a service on my car but i wanted to sort out the leak first until i found out how big of a job it is :smashScreen:. so should i add the liqui moly oil saver now or after i do a service?

will this stop the leak?
@Gizmo don't feel shy to comment & anyone else that knows this product:ty:

Dude I don’t recommend adding such things to fix oil leaks. The parts for the Job is pretty cheap I think the seal is like R300 from BMW. The job is a pain in the ass to do because the gearbox and flywheel, clutch assembly has to be removed to get to the seal. I wouldn’t suggest driving the car until you fix it as you are ultimately lowering your oil pressure.

aw crap.. do you know what the cost of this would be around?
i'm just skeptical here in Durban to send the car to just anyone if you know what i mean, so that's why i thought for now i can use the liqui moly oil saver.

No Idea, would depend on the Mechanic. Speak to Kish 2604 or Pr3v as they in KZN and know a few good mechies.
