E36 Aircon standard?

Hi All- I would like find out whether the E36 came with aircon as a standard feature or was it regarded as add on in the earlier models. If the latter from which date/year onwards. :thinking: A friend of mine is looking for a nice clean E36 but saw an ad on gumtree indicating ’92 325i no aircon. Please advise :thumbsup:

Mmm good question... All the e36's that I saw had an aircon... but couldn't the previous owner of the car had removed the aircon?

maybe ask for the VIN number and take it to BMW to find out exactly the specs of the car

Not in Europe,mine doesn't have aircon...it hardly ever gets hot enough here to warrant it...

The 92 e36 325 was the top of the line model at that stage and sure had aircon. Maybe his ac broke and he never had it fixes, or it's a typo.

Thanks guys- we were scouting the weekend and all the E36's we checked had aircon.
