E36 325 tds again...

Hi All,

If anyone knows a scrap yard or any place where i might be able to get a scrapped 325 tds or second hand parts for it, reason i am asking, so desperately i might add, is that i am looking for the bracket that the power steering pump bolts onto, that bracket then bolts onto the block.

My power steering pump broke off the bracket and i need to replace it.
The bracket is aluminium and i had it welded, didn't last for 1 minute as the tension of the fan belt just bent the bracket at the welded points(what a waste of money).

Bemows don't have a tds there as this bracket is not the same as the other 6 cylinder models, so now i need to either find a suitable solution or another tds to remove the bracket from.

Absolutely any ideas will be highly appreciate at this time.

PLEASE HELP!!!

p.s - the gautrain was quite cool today

Hey Bud

Managed to source you one.

Phone Motorem (021) 931 7114 and speak to Waleed.

I spoke to him just now, they stripped a 325tds a while back and he has that part for you in stock. R228,00.

I know it is Cape Town, but hey, it is worth a shot.

Why not make one from steel?

How much would that cost, more or less?

Cool Jacques. I phoned earlier and spoke to Walleed. Knew you had one just the other day, so figured the odds are good.

After alot of searching yesterday i stumbled across a post from bimmerforums.co.uk, where i noticed that i am actually missing a small bracket that bolts the pump to that particular bracket from behind, where mine was held in by only 2 bolts in should in fact be 4 bolts, it now makes sense why the bracket bent under belt tension.

I will get this fabricated on friday and see what happens, but now that i know there is a stripped tds in CPT, i am going to see what other parts i might need and call Motorem to see if it's available and get it all sent up one time  Cause from what it seems there are no stripped tds's in gauteng, take what i can get

Thanks guys, really really appreciate the help!!!
