E36 316i service - needs part and advice

Hi all

Time to service a 1998 E36 316i. There's a very slight coolant leak at the plastic hose connector but I can't determine whether it's the water pipe or the connector without removing the pipe, so I wanted to replace the connector any way. Problem is, the BMW agent in Klerksdorp asks an arm and a leg, which would make servicing the car a bit difficult. Does anyone know where I get it cheaper? It's no 7 (part no 11531743199
) in this RealOEM diagram. It has to be posted to Potchefstroom.

I'm also having some trouble locating the ECT sensor. According to this diagram of RealOEM (part 13) it should be on the firewall's side but I just can't see what's going on there. Can anyone confirm the location? The temperature sensor on the dashboard is a bit erratic, probably a poor connection at the instrument cluster but I want to test the ECT to be sure.

What is the oil capacity of this engine? Is it the M43 engine? I have about 3.25 liters of Castrol SLX. I know some would recommend another brand but as I already have some I would rather buy some more of the same. Would you guys recommend doing an engine flush? Any particular brand of flush? The car has done 230 000 km.

Lastly, the A/C is not working too well. I'm going to replace the micro filter (lost 2 of the spring clips on plastic housing, any idea where I can get those?). Is there anything else I can do myself or do I need to have the aircon serviced?

Thanks!
