E30 Drift Car

Well after an E30 drought of 4 years i decided I wanted to get one to use as a drifter.

Found a pin straight 85' 320i 2 door for an absolute steal. Included in the deal was a stripped M50B25 motor as well as the perfect little M20B20 motor in the car.

Paint is Rough with a capital R but I will get it right, I will most likely add a 1UZ lexus motor or the 1JZ budget dependant.

Will start a thread soon of progress but happy as anything to be back in an E30!

I think E30's are highly under represented in drifting honestly.

I don't think there is a single drift event in the world that does not have an E30 competing. They are just that awesome

congrats rhett, we PM'd on the E30 forum, forgot whos car you bought, it was a real steal I must say! I also eyed that one, if only it was down here! all the best, im sure its going to be a great base!! drop the M50 and turbo his brains out!:thumbs:

After some research the car will be tidied up and given a normal M20B25 motor and drifted with that.

Putting a Lexus or toyo motor in works out roughly 5 times the purchase price of the car.

Why dont you stroke the 320i motor you got?
THen again you have the e36 325i motor to swap out hey.

Well it can get you to 2.7/8 if thats what you asking. (pretty sure it will land you up just under 2.8, but I am under correction.) A re-bore to 85mm will get you to mid 2.8 and 86mm will get you to 2.9.
But you know how these motors work..The more you put in, the more you get out....
Why arent you using the M50 just by the way?

I've got M3 3.2 throttles, should you be interested?

I was about to do the same application with my E30, however, i have no diverged from that conversion.

Sooooo....

Bought a bolt on turbo kit and will shortly be starting a low comp M20 turbo motor build, I have so long stripped the interior out and cleaned it and dealt with the minimal surface rust.
