Before you say no rust on an e30 be sure to check the battery tray, spare wheel well and the wells at the side of the boot :)

Oh my, this sounds familiar.

Don't forget the sunroof tray, and in the bottom corners of the windscreen.

@Raybimmer-The car wont be scruffy, it will be a great example of what BMWs are about, sheer driving pleasure-so it wont be a waste at all. Those who know me on the forum know how I like to keep my cars, immaculate.

@Major-No sunroof and that area at teh corners of the windscreen is totally clear of rust. This little body is IMMACULATE!

Stripped the rest of the front end (lights, radiator, viscous fan etc) yesterday then rented a high pressure hose covered all the electrics with plastic, sprayed the whole engine bay with engine cleaner and the high pressure hosed it. Came out great.

When the covers were removed saw the radiator was brand of new as well.

Going to prep the area for spray tonight then friday prime the engine bay and spray black. Looking great at the moment!:inlove:

Right, I have installed the Intercooler and got the front bumper back on. Lights sadly had to be quite heavily trimmed. Looks like the inner lights will only be dummy lenses siliconed into place. I guess thats a small price to pay.

Bumper itself needed no cutting, small front cross piece needed to be cut quite heavily. Took me the grand total of 15 mins to re assemble the front end, bolt holes lined right up and slotted right into place.

Going hardcore on the powder coating, doing the drop springs, and any piece of the car that I can easily remove is getting done too!

Progress:

Radiator and associated piping in, boost pipes all clamped into place.

HOWEVER, this weekend the plan was to take the struts off and put the drop springs in the front. I battled for 5 hours to get the control arm bolt out. Had hald the front off and no control arm off. Eventually i reassembled everything, washed the car, swept the area took the car off the axle stands and left it. Its not really a big issue in the greater scheme of things but its a waste of 5 hours!

Budget for this car for this month is now finished, will await payday for the manifold gaskets and then turbo on and management in and then shes running!

:joy:

Progress:

Sloooow!

Busy getting the oil feed and return setup sorted out and then going to do management soon.

Budget is a tiny bit tight at the moment so progress is not the speed I would like. Got the drop springs powdercoated white to carry on the theme of white.
