Just thought I would update this project and the past year!
After returning back to Ireland last December to refit our sailing ship for another season of charters. My father had an operation and I ended up captaining the ship for the past 8 months and covering over 4500 nautical miles!
In that time we raced in the tall ships race 2018, and our ship “the Brian Ború” was made Ireland’s official representative as Irish tallship!
Now that I have trained a crew to permanently take over I’m free to return to Johannesburg to continue with the Motorsport shop. And this build!

Currently trying to source some parts before I return(November)
All and any help would be appreciated!!

After finding a supplier in the states that make new molded carpets but looks like I’ll have to get shipped via Ireland!

Off topic but here’s our Sailing ship!
Built by myself and my father over 10 years, she is a Traditionally rigged wooden Ketch,
Reinforces my motto of hard work pays off!

But back to the E30! Once I’m back, I have given myself 3 months to finish this build and will be using it to showcase our Shop and what we can offer!

This is epic!
More so that it was built by you and your dad...

Well our background is wooden Shipwrights. For me, since an early age I’ve been involved with boats. Our love is wooden ships. Not the glamorous side unfortunately

Anxiously waiting for the updates on the E30 as soon as you get back.

Awesome work having built this sailing ship and then being able to race it as well :bravo:

On a side note, is your crew asleep in pic? :roflol:

Well our trainees are between 15-18.
So most never did hard work before! Sailing a ship certainly is exhausting.
And I was always pushing the ship hard
