Boys and girls...

Why don't we all take a step back and see this aint going nowhere as were the previous threads on 320i's...

If you drive a 116 your car cause you wanted it... 118 same story.

120 or 120d or 130i... what the heck ever you fancy at that time and drive at this specific point in time. if it cost you 30k or 40k or 500k for your car it's your problem. you bought it as it made the most sense to you and you had to decide beforehand if you wanted the car or not. if you didn't and you feel you bought the wrong car... your problem, either live with it or get another one.

Let's all now leave the 320i owners please. if you wanna give someone shit about a car pick me... mine is just 1 model above and it's a 323i

mine's a silver fridge so come if you wanna i don't give a shit if you don't like what i have but i like what i have..

Quit now with tormenting guys about a 320i. last time i checked it said BMW.

E30 E36 E46 E90 E whatever... it's a BMW and we all love our cars.

let's quit now and respect what each owner has and not break them down. BMW is a very very respectable car and any BMW and it's owner should be treated as such..

If you have a comment sit and think carefully about what you wanna say. If it's gonna sound harsh and get someone upset then rather keep quiet. If you don't have anything good to say about someone else or their property don't you think it's better to keep quiet then ?

Admins please step in here now cause this thread is also getting a bit much now.

I like your car, oh and what you said here too:bravo:

not at all moranor..

well alot of people take offence to it cause some might only be able to afford a 320i only thing i could afford was a 2006 323i. but i picked something that i loved.

as i said i couldn't give a continental F if a person doesn't like my car.

Let's leave the guys alone that does get offended by this is all i'm asking

there seem to be allot of angry 320i drivers out there... coincidence?

If someone started a tread Ripping the e46 323i would i feel offended... hell no... wtf do i care if some people dont like my car and think its junk?

Is this thread some how an assault on the gentlemen vegetables of all the 320i drivers?

Your getting personal :nono:

The 320 is what it is and for most it's all they need. It's everyone's own choice what they want to buy... there's no wrong choice here!

I'll say it again: Al lot of the posts here is quite insulting and there's no need for it. End of story.

yes i can laugh at it but for the silly part of this thread... not happy about the guys that get upset about it.

Let's rather let this thread die down and get onto bigger and better talking kak sessions :)

I think any car that does 0-100 in over 8s is a lame excuse for a car i dont care what badge it has on the front...

why should you care what i think...

:roflol: Then what do you call the 90% of metal boxes with wheels on the road if they are just lame excuses for cars? And yours only became a full fledged car after you tuned it...
Is it really that unfathonable for you to believe that most road users are happy with doing 0-100 in 10s+? (Obviously money being the issue). Maybe you should get some driving tips from the toyota forum on how to live with slow cars and still stay a fanatic :fencelook:?

A good example, I can afford a 135i, now please call me silly for choosing a car that is much slower.... (Ok, please don't, I have low self esteem because I have a four cylinder engine) But at this stage of my life I cannot drive one. I will opt for a faster, more unpractical car when I go through my mid-life crysis.

I think I suspect what all the fluss is about. I don't recall that any of the 320i owners felt highly offended in the first thread about the 320i. They all voiced their opinions on why they love their cars. But everything went sideways (except the 320i :sorry:) when this kept on being an issue after perfectly valid reasons were given. I don't think they are pissed because people are calling their cars slow, they are pissed because others expect them to care, and even admit that they made the wrong choice...

Dont joke bru, my 320i can go sideways, i promise you and i can gladly show you that :thumbs: :bravo:

Well like i said before, i love my 320i, if you love your E46 330i with 400000km on the clock then WOOHOO, good for you! i prefer to have motorplan, modern ,good looks and good fuel consumption.
the older car lover prefers something else, over this...

So what if you think a E90 320 is a slow car, then don't buy it. You wont see a guy with a M3 talking you down cause you drive a 323i, 320d or 330i or whatever. Different strokes for different folks. There is always someone who will think your car is slow, no matter what you drive, but they wont make a 20 page thread of it.

So leave the 320 ouens. So what if someone paid R380k for their 2000cc BMW's? Its their money, their choice, same way someone who will choose to drive a R50 000 BMW can do so freely, its his choice.

My point is we all fanatics, so next week what if the ouens start dissing 323i cars and their owners, next the 325i and so on. In the end, this forum will become a joke, cause here not only does Audi's VW's or whatever get dissed for whatever reasons, but BMW's too.

:roflol: Where did that come from? If you quote a comment, please let it be relevent to what you are commenting about. If you are refering to my joke about going sideways, then sorry you missed the "joke". Atleast aZZ_kIkR picked it up.

@moranor: You are correct, things are starting to get a little touchy now. Maybe everyone should just calm down, we don't want to have a 320i riot, there are more 320i's on the road than any other new bmw's, so it will get messy. They outnumber the anti-slow movement :roflol: (Read: Joke)

Gees, this thread is still going on lol

you know there is alot of shit in this thread, firstly. but also you can see there are guys here who are true fanatics to the brand and not just he engine designation.

Honestly, some guys may understand the crap that the non-facelift yuppies are throwing at the newer muh better looking E90 320i owners but if we get guests on here that are watching these threads, they might probably be chased away thinking that they wont be welcomed here? now Mods, admin, and fellow members, have a good long think about that, if we want the forum to grow, and like i said before, meaningless threads like this are going to stop people from wanting to come here:thumbs:

and btw, the crap, negative stuff i said above is just a joke and nothing more, so not trying to insult or start a war, just bringing a bit of loooools to the thread.

Hee are my smilies: :roflol::roflol::rollsmile::rollsmile::biglol::biglol::biglol: jsut to confirm this is a joke except the chasing the potential members away part

The previous shape fiesta was awesome, lift-off-oversteer anyone? You don't need kw's to have fun. In actual fact, I have almost as much fun with my wifes 1.0l yaris. Think 0-100 in 15s.... But omw, its so scary not having any feedback coming from the steering wheel. Best thing is, you are never going over the speed limit. I don't envy the guys with the M3s etc in that sense, because you have to go ridiculously fast to have fun :fencelook:

ridiculous speeds :fencelook: im not saying anything...

If you really want to have fun at the speed limit you should try rolling down the street in a pram doing 60

The 320i is BMW's top selling car in their entire range. If it was as bad as some say here I'm sure the sales figures will reflect this. Sure the engine is just adequate to move the metal but for some this is all that is required. Safe reliable motoring with a great maintenance plan and good dealer network are deciding factors for most. Engine choice comes after and fits the budget. If a 320 is within budget, then that is what's chosen. I have driven a few 320i loaners and can say that for what it is and it's intended target market it gets the job done.

Maintenance I would guess and the fact that everybody knows BMWs start falling to bits once it reaches 100001 km.........

NOT :)

U reached the 100k mark yet ?

In South Africa especially JHB and high altitude you can forget the 320i. However you must keep in mind it is designed in Germany a country where you can get 102 octane at the pump and also were you don't really exceed an altitude of 250meters. I can imagine the 320i will accelerate significantly better (but still not jaw dropping).

The 320i still offers the same chassis and handling but with less speed and acceleration, it also gives people with a smaller budget the opportunity to be part of the BMW brand which comes with perks. Such as people moving out of your way on the highway eventhough in JHB you will struggle to pass them in the 320i. Also it sounds better when a someone asks you what you drive if you say BMW it does impress more then lets say Toyota.

Bottom line is that If faced with the choice I would never choose a new 320i rather a pre-owned, demo or low mileage 320d for the same money.

the last time ichecked we were all on the bmwfanatics forum?

to my understanding that includes every thing bmw, old, new 1.6to m6,even the x range, motor bikes aswell as i found out the bmw bicycle.

so whats the problem?its starting to sound like the old gti club,if it didnt say gti on the rear you were looked down on.thats why i left them and started with the quad bikes.

now it seems its starting here,i first drove a 320 and was impressed,it was the first car i drove with over a 100kw,so why did i buy a 6 cylinder, because of the sound that all, dont care if it 323,325,330 etc, just like the sound of the 6 cylinder motor and its the first car that i paid over 200 000 rand for, dont belive in paying high prices for some thing that just goes backwards and forward between work and home.

to all the guys that bought 320,good choice, because it remains a BMW.

Yeah this thread is pretty lame.... :p I drive a 320i LCI space grey. Its awesome! My wife and I live in CT and I drive to the Eastern Cape to visit my folks (about 1200km away) 3 times a year. I did the last trip in 8hrs. Reached and maintained 210km\h on many occasions on the garden route, got 3 traffic fines in the process :p

I don't feel the need to do 1200km any faster than 8hrs, but I do feel the need to get there in comfort and peace of mind that the car is not going to shake rattle and roll while I maintain those speeds and that's something I can be guaranteed in my bimmer for many years.

My next car will be BMW, maybe not a 320i, because I've tasted that flavour. Next will probably be the new shape F30 in 3 or 4 years time. But definitely staying with the BMW brand. Thats something that BMW will be looking forward to, I'm only 27, so many more BMWs to come in family, God willing.

Regards,
Proud BMW Fanatic
