Driver airbag recall

My car, 2002 330i, was due for a driver airbag recall, by chance they picked up my VIN number at a recent part inquiry, my car was booked in to Midrand BMW, new steering wheel airbag fitted, no charge. After all these years BMW still do recalls on safety items, very impressed.
BMW did not have my details as the owner of the car, so weren't able to contact me earlier.

Had to have both my passenger and driver's airbags changed on my E46. Did they advise if your passenger one was fine? IIRC, its only certain versions that need to be replaced.

Had 2 campaigns carried out on the E92 last week as well. Glad that BMW offers some recalls in ZA.

This is actually done to safeguard themselves against lawsuits that may arise from defective airbags, the bill is paid by the airbag manufacturer IIRC...
