Difference in Cylinder Heads

Whats the difference between the E30 325i and 325iS cylinder heads? Also what is a recommended cam for use on the 885 head?

Some heads are marked 2.5L and some are marked 2.5L and 2.7L . This is on the right hand side above the exhaust manifold .
The one with the dual markings is better .
What do you want to do with the motor ? Use a standard 325i cam unless you are modding the motor .

is head is gas flowed and have a different combustion chamber
stay away form a head that is marked 2.7 only

+1 go for the 885 head do check for cracks tho

also the 731 head flows better
 
I have a 325i with a 2,7 bottom end. I was advised on the 885 head that would increase the performance. I have a friend of a friend who can get me a 2.5/2.7 head. Not sure what that was.
Whats the go with the head marked 2.7 only??

the head marked 2.7 only is the eta head it haven't got double valve springs and the cam in there is crap
 
Thanx that explains a lot. I bought a 325 eta so I would imagine the head would be stamped 2.7 only

Rodsfromday are you in Australia ?
There were e30 325e models in the States , we only had 525e models here in SA , so lucky not too many eta heads around . Cranks are scarce , a e36 M52 crank with nose mod is a good idea .

Yes i am in Aus. I bought it for very cheap and thought i would do a track car, but now i want to make it a daily for my son but want max out of the 325 motor. I have heard of putting on the 323 or 325 head and injection system. I am trying to source a head from back home now as the heads here are catastrophically expensive!!

Hey there, I recently bought an e30 325i...its still pretty neat and has minor things that needs attention like inside door knobs, driverside lock mechanism and the odometer is out of whack...the other thing that's buggin' me is the fact that the car jerks when I completely release the clutch at cruising speed in 1st/2nd gear. The mechanic I bought it from says it because of the cam...what can I do to correct this?

Pls shed some light
