Delayed acceleration

hi guys

wonder if anyone has had this issue before. I was driving for a while now and then all of a sudden, noticed that everytime i accelerate either from a stand still or just acelerate to go faster, i experience a slight delay (like no power) and then it kicks in. Have a 325Ci Auto. It does it across all gears, even if i put it in park now and rev it, theres a slight delay and then it kicks in. Any ideas?? thanks

I think thats normal , its where the power band is , is where you get the power , if your put your foot flat in 1st gear , you get a jump around 3000rpm ? Also you have a auto gearbox , they prone to do that

i know of the slight delay, but this is particularly unusual. It almost seems like all power just dies and the car is dead and then kicks in, its never normally like this. feels like the car is missing or maybe the MAF.

I know this may seem stupid but check the air filter. I know mine is a diesel but I had major hesitation recently because of a dirty air filter...after i pulled out half the engine componants!!:fencelook:

good idea, i put a K&N filter in about 22000km ago and havent cleaned it since then. Strangely enough i havent had this issue again after that one day. I did do a diagnostics test and everything was 100%.

My 330 was doing this when i first got it. From stand still if i floored it, the car simply went no where. The rev used to sorta jump from idle to around 2000rpm for about a second then suddenly get all its power back. Even when started in the mornings it refused to rev and the rev needle used jump around before coming to a normal idle.

I cleaned the MAF but to no avail. Since the car just came out of mp i knew i was in for a shocker at the stealer's.

However when it went in for a full diagnostic report(R750, which they never charge for) they called me at the end of the day to pick up the car as it was repaired.

For R208 they updated the sw and she was fine, well more than fine the power is much more now. So try a getting a diagnostic report first then work from there.
