Right guys,
so i walk into our local BMW dealership looking for a new BMW badge for the bonnet of my car.
The guy tells me its..................R625!!! R625 for a badge!!!?????:cursin:

So i tell the guy he probably know what he can do with a R625 badge!!!He says unfortunately not, cause theres allready a R500 plastic pype!!!(sorry, old tolla v.d merwe joke)

But serously, R625 for a plastic badge. So I went to a scrapyard and found a near perfect badge on a crashed X5. The price? R50.

Gotta wonder about the dealerships sometimes........

Its not the dealerships, its us South Africans that simply pay teh crazy prices, smile and walk away. Here in SA, we pay the highest prices for BMW spares globally. FAX!

Hmmm... So the price even varies between dealerships!
I would have thought the price would at least be similar across RSA.

Plenty on ebay. You probably can get both the back and front plus the center caps for the wheels (all 4) with shipping for the same price. I replaced all on my E36 recently, bought on ebay and think it cost me about R650 or so.....

Those badges, and other parts something fishy happened with their pricing.

In May 2007 for my E39 front Badge R185

In June 2008 for my E34 Front Badge R 215

In November 2008 E39 front badge again because it blew off (Don't ask) R680.00!

In 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 Cabin air filters for my E39 R 205 to R330 each

In January 2009 they wanted more than R900 EACH for those filters......

Something's all Fscked up with their pricing, somwhere in 2008 they just trippled EVERYTHING.....bastards, and us typical SA consumers don't notice, or just keep paying. I'd love to see them try get away with that crap in the states.

I got mine directly from the dealer, for a 03 320i, also 6 cylinder.

Thanks

Sadly E46 spares are cheaper than E36 spares...:cursin:...But I found a supplier in the USA that can supply for R500.00 including shipping!!! and its from the OEM supplier...

Hmmm yeah dunno if I should phone a few other stealerships for prices but as far as I know BMW seems to have fixed prices...A quick search on google came up with a Kaz Auto Spares in Sandton...I'll give them a call.

Thanks Raybimmer.

Emailed Paarlberg BMW for some prices today - they were almost 20% more expensive than other dealers for same parts - maybe those wine farmers got too much $$$$$$$$$$$

Aw Hell, there goes Paarlberg too.....

At least they got good service still. A mate of mine had his exit-medical from the motorplan for his E60 and they basically swapped out his sound system and fitted a new auto box... Paarl won him over needless to say... But he did have a LOT of troubles at the other WC dealerships.
