Car looks stunning bud :praise:

I love the lights shots

Why not fit some LEDs to the number plate lights?

Thanks, it is on the to do list

I have not read up about it, do you know how much they costs?

I'm not too sure of exact pricing, but if I remember correctly it was around R30.00 to R40.00 per canbus globe from Electromann, and mine have lasted a year so far without hassles.

hmmm.., these bmw engine bays get dirty so quickly, so i dont blame you for that. I have seen mine get very dusty just after a single drive on a dusty road.

Nice transformation though. Did the autoglym bumper care work on the plastic bits?

It's works in the sense that is makes the plastic nice and black again but it does not last very long. It does not keep the plastic black either. I doubt I would buy it again, bought way back when I still had the e36 and wanted to revive the the beading. It is like tire dressing looks EPIC right after you have done it but 2 weeks later is all gone.

I am seriously contemplating to have all the plastic parts on the outside of the car sprayed gloss black, to avoid this problem of the plastic fading.

Managed to fix the sunroof today!!

The gear on the motor was slipping on the cables that moves the sunroof, managed to get it sorted, with a small piece of sheet metal to force the cable in the teeth of the gear. The cable also pop out the left side(actually bends the sheet metal cover not the plastic).

Will upload pics later and a small DIY.

The whole roof lining and all the pillar cover had to be removed .

This week the biggest eye sore on the e46 has been sorted out.

You guys might have not noticed it on the photo's but the bonnet on the e46 was actual cream/beige and it seemed like it did not have clear coat on it(this is what I think). Non the less it went in on Monday and I got it back today. The fade seems to match ,will have check tomorrow when there is some sunlight.

I am over the moon as it was personally a every big problem/eye sore to me. Made me very depressed when I washed the car and I saw it or just thought about it.

Sash can attest that it looked bad, you know how it got me worked up when I spoke about it.

No point in posting pics as the camera did not show the fade.

No more custom fade cream bonnet for me(how my mates ridiculed me about it).

Update:

Spent the last 3 days working on the car(took Friday off from work).

What I got up to:

Polished the stock tail pipes, sanding paper and some burnishing paste. That took about 3 hours. They are nice and shinny now

Cleaned the number plate cover/boot handle(removed it from the body and cleaned the dirty water marks around the edge), still need black out the black parts. Replaced the globes with LED globes. Makes the rear look so clean it shocking what 60 bucks worth light can do.

Removed the Lamix tint from my taillights tried to stick a new vinyl. Unfortunately I can't get the warp to work around the curve(the one that follows the body line, I tried twice). Used what I had left to tint indicator strip instead. I rate it looks pretty sweet.

The big job was cleaning and painting my brake calipers. I used brake cleaner(3 cans), my dremmel (5 wire brushes of which one has half of it's wire still on it). Disassembled the brakes but did not disconnect them, planned on bleeding them next weekend.
Not going to tell you guys the colour just yet. I will say it is not boring but not outlandishly wild either. I really think it compliments the car, and will look great ones the wheels have been painted.

I will post pics later need to go assemble the front brakes now as the paint will be dry enough now.

I think I spent roughly 36 hours on the car this weekend, I am exhausted!
