@Ash.. I went with my Wife and two kids.

@VSomai.... Hope you enjoy it bro... Please remember to carry the sea sickness tabs... and also carry cash for the drinks and other expenses. you will need a minimum of 50 US Dollars worth... so It will make sense to carry more, depending on how much you plan to drink.

My advice is to go to a Bureau de Change before you go onto the ship and convert your rands to Dollars as the Exchange rate on the ship is slightly higher than the normal rate. Will save you a few bucks.

Enjoy it!! I will be going on the Msc Sinfonia on the 6th Feb. Going to Madagascar, Reunion and Mauritius.

Cant wait!!

Peertjies is there as well! He is also on the cruise!

Apparently the route changed from Madagascar to Portuguese Islands as well. There was a storm and possible cyclone??

I was on the 21 - 25 Jan cruise to maputo and inhambane...very relaxing trip.
Our drinks bill came around $250 ... we got very thirsty on the ship
My wife get see sick very easily but this trip she was ok...as long as you are on the move and keeping your mind occupied you wont notice the ships movement. Staying in the cabin is when you notice the movement.
Only down side for me was the food and service. :thumbdo:

I agree with you completely... The worst thing to do when youre feeling slightly seasick is to go back to the cabin. My did this consistently, and in fact stayed all day in the room on the last day of the cruise due to us being at sea the whole time. I kept moving and even went for a swim.

A good way to stop the seasickness is to go for a swim on the pool deck. Being in the pool will be like having a gyroscope... so no matter which way the ship goes, you remain level in the pool.

Oh and the pools are filled with fresh seawater. Pumped daily from the very ocean you are cruising on. Makes it so cool to swim in.

hey bud,

i went through www.msccruises.co.za because they had a special on Groupon which i bought and saved 64% after booking an outside cabin (with window). only cost me R4780 for two adults for a 3 night cruise to Portuguese islands excluding drinks.

There are not many Cruise days left. The cruising season ends mid April in South Africa.

@Ash... I went with Serendipity Tours... The service was acceptable, but not what I would consider reference worthy. I definitely think that looking at Groupon or directly on the MSC Cruises South Africa Website would help your case.
