I agree with you completely... The worst thing to do when youre feeling slightly seasick is to go back to the cabin. My did this consistently, and in fact stayed all day in the room on the last day of the cruise due to us being at sea the whole time. I kept moving and even went for a swim.
A good way to stop the seasickness is to go for a swim on the pool deck. Being in the pool will be like having a gyroscope... so no matter which way the ship goes, you remain level in the pool.
Oh and the pools are filled with fresh seawater. Pumped daily from the very ocean you are cruising on. Makes it so cool to swim in.
