Hey Pravin,

there are quite a few products in your Soft99 range that you have for sale, could you perhaps edit the first post and highlight each one you carry and their intended use and where it fits in?

also if you can add some clarity? is Soft99 more a wax or a sealant? were would its intended use be? also can it be applied/reapplied on top of paint that doent need correction but has a sealent on top?

thanks...

So I will let Pravin update the range, but I'll try answer the rest.

Soft99 more a wax or a sealant - From what I have read, they are fully synthetic and I haven't seen any reference of carnuba enrichment, so I would say they lean toward being a sealant.

can it be applied/reapplied on top of paint that doent need correction but has a sealent on top? - I would not apply it on top of another sealant as it will not bond to the paint properly, and would not give the desired finish/durability. Ideally you would want to clay/decontaminate before applying any sealant... not just to get rid of old LSP, but because you always stand the risk of dragging bonded contaminants across the paint if you do not decontaminate before applying LSP.

Thanks Kyle. Spot on on both counts.

Soft99 is more a synthetic based wax rather than the traditional Carnuaba waxes like Collinite etc.

Kish, I will amend the original post as requested in detail. But just for a quick reference.

There are four main waxes that we brought in. All of them have 2 formulations. One for dark and another for light colours. So in total there are 8 waxes.

First up is Fusso!
fussocoatdark.jpg

This is the wax in my original post, and is the benchmark product from Soft99. It kinda covers all basis. Good shine, extremely durable coating and easy to use.

Then we have the King of Gloss, lovingly refered to KoG!
soft99-the-king-of-gloss-car-wax-black-500x500.jpg

This is the product for all out shine. Not as high endurance as Fusso, for obvious reasons. Easy to apply and remove. Endurance is rated around 3 months.

Then there's MirrorShine
mirrordark.jpg

This is very similar to Optimum's OptiSeal. This is the easiest wax you will ever use. All you do is wipe it on. There's no curing time, just work it in until it leaves a wet look gloss. Move on to the next panel. This easy to use product will still outlast any regular wax that you have used before. The endurance is about 3 months as well. This product will require a paradigm shift as we are all more used to the regular waxes. One thing you will notice with the other Soft99 waxes is the curing time is almost immediate. Which is why, this 0 curing product is the next step they've taken.

Lastly, we have the coating and cleaner wax.
soft99-coating-cleaning-darksilver.jpg

This will compare to your regular AIO product. Cleans the paint and applies a coating in one step. Medium endurance at 3 months as well, and decent shine as well. This will benefit weathered paintwork that requires a quick one step.

All the Soft99 waxes contain PTFE and resin polymers. So they will all fill light marring and swirls to some degree. The biggest issue is finding enough reading material on these products, and the Japanese vids are a laff. But there is no doubt that this is something that the west has just got a taste of. If you trawl DetailingWorld (the biggest detailing dedicated forum on the web) you will quickly see how Soft99 has won the hearts of even the biggest sceptics.

Pimped from the Fusso thread:

here are the pictures of the test I did, unfortunately i said they were wet sanded to 3000, its 2000 in my notes but it did also have a coat of ez creme. Never the less still impressive filling capabilities if you like that sort of thing.

As i say well known brand of wax, entry level.

Sanded to 2000

Hope this clears up that when offered the opportunity wax WILL fill.

As you can see this a way more extreme than a quick flash over with a light polish and slap a massive filler on top, imagine the results after a light enhancement, could look the dogs danglies.

I think the last sentance is important. While this shows off the extremes the wax can fill. Nothing replaces proper prep stage like clay and polish first. This will just enhance the finish and take things to the next level.

I went to XXX in Centurion and got myself some Scratch X 2.0 for R160

http://www.meguiars.com/en/automotive/products/g10307-scratchxreg-20/

When they washed the car before I got it they scratched the clear coat where you would pick up tar marks on the back bumper and side skirts so I got some of that and it took out those fine scratches instantly. Will keep on using it on a regular basis.

The meguiars is a harsh compound, so everytime you use it, you are taking paint off your car.

The product above fills in light scratches instead of taking paint off.

Ideally you would not use compound often, rather get your paint corrected by a detailer who knows what he's doing, then maintain it with a product like soft99.

Its not a rubbing compound ? Its identical to polish. Rub it on . Goes all white like every other polish and you rub it off. Would presume it works the same

Anything that removes a scratch is compound(polish is considered a compound) and scratch x is considered a very strong cutting agent.

Most people mistake "Polish" and LSP.

LSP is your wax,sealant etc..

The soft99 is actually an LSP, It will fill in scratches, but will wear off after time(think of it as make-up), a compound or polish would level out the scratch thereby permanently removing it.

Further after polishing, you would need to put an LSP over to protect the paint.

Oh ok ... really didn't know that

Thanks for the info

Definitley getting some of this before the price goes up due to popularity

I take exception to that. Crazydetailer does not operate like that, and we never will. Prices are raised whenever the exchange rate dips, not because a product becomes popular! We've kept most of our product line stable for the past few years, except for those damn foam cannons. Which we import every 2-3 months and have been rising with every import.

Dont be offended.

The comment was aimed at the product owner, not you.

Okay cool, understood.

To be fair, they have been around for a long time. I doubt the new interest would sway them. Soft99 are BIG in Japan ...
