In keeping with our commitment to the SA detailing community of researching and sourcing the very latest and greatest detailing trends, I would like to introduce a new line-up to Crazydetailer – Soft99. Your first reaction might be who the, or what the heck is Soft99! Soft99 until just recently was not a very well known or popular brand. While they originate and are “Big in Japan”, not many people even knew they existed though they have been around since the 60’s. A respected detailer from DetailingWorld UK tried out one of their products and was completely blown away, so much so he decided to do a detailed thread about Fusso (the wax he purchased at the time). From there on people tried the waxes and are still being blown away.

Nobody has seen this sort of technology being put into a wax. We have all used waxes, some of us have spent thousands of Rands on different waxes and sealants, but I can assure you, these products are unlike anything else you have seen before. Personally I have used allot of waxes and sealants, but doing just a fender of my car with the Fusso wax was a jaw dropping moment, even for me.

The products are based on their nano glass coating technology, and as most will agree the Japanese are masters of the glass coatings. Using similar technology, they have fused Hi-Tech resins with PTFE polymers to leave paintwork super smooth with a deep shine. Their formulas are based on specific colours to ensure the wax that you use, on a dark or light coloured vehicle is optimised for shine.
These formulations are also built to last, with Fusso claiming up to 12 months, and the other waxes around 3 months endurance. The real party trick however is the way the coating repels water. I’ve never seen a wax repel water like this. Super Hydrophobic is a term I would use. Take a look at the videos we’ve uploaded to our website.

The packaging of the waxes is loud, very different to the usual line up that we have in our store. They are different and demand attention. Might not be everyone's cup of tea I admit, but use the products and you will realise these products have been engineered to stand out from the crowd; these are not your generic off the shelf products.

First up Fusso!

This is the wax has shocked the international detailing community.

The initial testing by respected detailers proved that Fusso punches way above its weight. Formulated using the latest Fluorine polymer technology, combined with PTFE and acrylic resins, you are guaranteed to get the best possible shine that will outlast anything else on the market. Fusso bonds to the paint leaving a super slick, thick coating that is hyper hydrophobic and repels water like nothing we have seen. This keeps the surface looking better for longer as dirt and contaminates do not bond as easily. Added to that, washing becomes even easier.

While you may have used decent sealants before, fusso has another ace up its sleeve. The hi-tech resin formula also fills minor surface imperfection like no other wax can. If you suffer from paint marring due to extremely soft paint, or if you can not afford to keep polishing your paintwork due to minor swirls from weekly washing, Fusso is the answer. This filling ability together with the extremely high gloss super coating created, leaves your paintwork in showroom condition with minimal effort.

Chaps I'm at the store tomorrow.

I have tested this on my car and I can safely say I've been gob-smacked! I've always got a wax or sealant on my car and I just tested on a fender during the week. There is a chalk and cheese difference in the shine and most importantly the feel. It feels unreal !

It did on mine. To be fair, I didn't really have proper swirl marks but you know those nasty streaks that you pick up on black cars? The type that you only see in certain angles of sunligh? I applied to the fender and they were all gone when I buffed it off.

I will have to take pics to show the actual results. And a video for the beading ... Lets hope I get some time this weekend

Okay So Neil decided to give Fusso a go on his car this weekend:

e7j60l.jpg

Application was straight forward, easy on, spread evenly and thinly, and easy off. No streaking, or hard buffing etc.

It left an amazing finish ...

I think this pic shows the filling capabilities of this coating ... :praise:

Awesome results from just a wax.

:inlove:

I have Blackfire Paint Protect (Sealant), Auto Finesse Tough Coat Sealant, and Auto Finesse Desire Wax.

For the Auto Finesse I would be hard pressed to believe Soft99 is better. What do you think CD?

P.S. I love your products!

How does this compare with collinite 845?

Collinite a wax. Still brilliant in its own right and still something that most detailers keep in their kit. I have a host of different products in my kit, sealants, waxes etc. I prefer swapping products depending on my mood as I think they all give a different finish, so I enjoy a change of look every now and then.

Thanks man. I think the real question is whether or not you happy with your kit, if you are, that's all that matters bud. As mentioned above, I enjoy using different products for the different results they give off. Its not about one product being better than the other.

No manufacturer is the best at everything. This is why we continually source the best for around the world. Our product range is always growing. Choice is a good thing

I went to XXX in Centurion and got myself some Scratch X 2.0 for R160

http://www.meguiars.com/en/automotive/products/g10307-scratchxreg-20/

When they washed the car before I got it they scratched the clear coat where you would pick up tar marks on the back bumper and side skirts so I got some of that and it took out those fine scratches instantly. Will keep on using it on a regular basis.

The meguiars is a harsh compound, so everytime you use it, you are taking paint off your car.

The product above fills in light scratches instead of taking paint off.

Ideally you would not use compound often, rather get your paint corrected by a detailer who knows what he's doing, then maintain it with a product like soft99.

Its not a rubbing compound ? Its identical to polish. Rub it on . Goes all white like every other polish and you rub it off. Would presume it works the same

Anything that removes a scratch is compound(polish is considered a compound) and scratch x is considered a very strong cutting agent.

Most people mistake "Polish" and LSP.

LSP is your wax,sealant etc..

The soft99 is actually an LSP, It will fill in scratches, but will wear off after time(think of it as make-up), a compound or polish would level out the scratch thereby permanently removing it.

Further after polishing, you would need to put an LSP over to protect the paint.
