Correct Plugs for e46 318i

Does anyone know what the correct plugs are for 2004 3i8i ? Its the N46 engine. Got a price today at BMW Midrand and it was 186 + vat each. I could see that it was actually a bosch plug quoted . I thought this was a bit excessive for plugs. I asked the oke what the bosch code was and he reluctantly told me it was FR7KPP3 as if I asked him to donate a kidney. Called the local midas and they told me they have an NGK plug for my car that is R65 each. Does anyone know what the correct plug is and whether Im just wasting money getting these plugs at BMW when I can get the exact same thing at another spares shop much cheaper.

only use the right plug for your car you might think that saving money on plugs is a good idea but the wrong plug will loose you money in fuel consumption...

Im sure EMI have the right plug for you...

Thanks Mohammed@EMIAutoParts was looking for the actual plug code so I can go get it myself not an advert for a shop. I am nowhere near rustenberg or polokwane. I will just have to pull out mine and check what they are.

lol thanks a lot Moranor for the codes just calling it like I see it. Im planning to get my car serviced today and have everything except the plugs as I think they were way to expensive at the stealer. On my way to the spares shop this morning and was looking to have the correct codes in hand from the forumites who know what it is as many spares shops just give you the plug they think is right for you. I have experienced this multiple times with my other car. According to BM the correct one is FR7KPP3 saw the guy pull it up on the system myself. I was needed clarity as I always thought the OEM was NGK. Someone telling me to go to a spares shop to get the correct plugs is not really the answer I was looking for ...no offence to the rustenburg spares shop . Just as a note goldwagen stocks the Bosch FR7KPP3 quoted between R85 and R100. Works out to a saving of R540 on a set.

Understand Vin but EMI did not know when you needed them :) im sure he would not post up contact numbers as it was not useful to you this time...

e46 take NGK or Bosch you can use ether... last time for my car SMG had the Bosch plugs at a good price...

prices are R75-125 per plug for the 6cyl

Moranor lol if the fact that I clearly asked 'Does anyone know what the correct plugs are for 2004 3i8i ?' 3 times in my post including the heading makes anyone doubt what I was actually looking then hmmm. Anyhoo I got them at R100 each at Goldwagen they are platinum Iridium plugs with single electrode. I consulted our local NGK catalog as well and just out of interest the e46 318i with N46B20 engine is not listed in it. It does however show that engine under a the E90 with IZFR6H-11. I hope in the very least my post will help other newbees see that with a bit of homework you can still get the same parts to maintain your car without having to pay ridiculous prices that the dealers sometimes(ok all the time) ask.

I disagree you wanted plugs for your car and EMI has them... if you were not in a rush for the parts you could have called and got the parts delivered to you no driving around or debating plug numbers... EMI specializes in BMW so they know more than your average GW about our machines...

but anyway you get them at almost half the dealers price :joy:

uhm... his point is valid. he asked for the correct code for the sparkplugs.
Id also be annoyed if i asked a technical question and instead got an ad for a spares shop.

well maybe EMI should have posted up the part numbers with the price that would have been the most useful...
