Hey guys

Alright. At this current moment I am extremely excited.

Last Saturday I booked a test drive with BMW Tygervalley for a standard 1.6 Cooper.

Today I thought "F" that. And rebooked for a Cooper S and have been given the car from 2pm till 5:30pm tomorrow.

And in true Michael fashion a feature article and photography will follow.

The route:

- Collect car from BMW
- Collect mom and little brother from house (Displays the practicality of the car)
- Drive through to West Beach via the back roads of Durbanville (Stretch its legs a little)
- Do some photography at the beach (Same place we were Don) of the Cooper (For your entertainment).
- Drive through to Durbanville and drop off mom and brother.
- Drop off car at BMW after having some "fun" on the way there.

I wanted to take the car to Franschhoek and still do but I feel its a bit irresponsible to use someone else's car on a technical mountain pass which I dont know very well. So a bit of town, bit of freeway and some twisty back roads.

Should allow me to get to grips with the car and give you guys a decent article.

I cant wait!

Mike

**Sorry for the sh*t teaser. Will post the article on Saturday or even friday night**

Why are you taking it back? Or are you going back to sign the papers...?

Hahaha

That's my plan Hellas!

And the reason Im test driving it is because I want to buy one later this year. I don't need a car right now as I have a fantastic car already.

This whole thing is really just self motivation for me. :)

Rohan!

This car seriously fecks off! I cant imagine how fast yours must have been (and how much yours wheel spun haha).

This afternoon has been an absolute please. I must have done about 200km with the car today and not once did I want to get out. Simply astonishing little car.

The article and pictures will follow either tomorrow or Sunday. That car is bliss.

And I truly do feel motivated right now to get this car. I want the new Mini. With panoramic roof and "S" badges. And that engine.

THREAD THREAD :slap: it is TREAD TREAD TREAD TREAD :hammerhead:

So wait, they gave you the car for the afternoon? I might need some motivation to buy that e90 M3 :mmm: maybe an afternoon with one would help seal the deal :)

Everything will go well.... until they look at my income :(

Hehe yup.

I had it from 1:30pm till 5:30pm.

They gave it to me with a range of 100km on the tank. I got to Panorama (15km away) with a range of 20km left.

So put in R150 petrol which gave me half a tank and after doing some fun driving for the entire period I dropped it off with a range of 75km.

The lady at Mini was extremely helpful and more then happy to provide the car. I explained I wanted to write an article on the car and do some photography with it. She said that sounded fabulous and gave me a full house Cooper S.

She even enticed me to go fast with it. Haha

I really miss that car.... *Sob*

Naw man, your doing exactly the right thing.

Providing motivatin for yourself like this even if its pie in the sky dreams now means that you will make it, and not become some lazy assed sod like most of the people in this country.

I'll bet you that you'll have that Mini in 2 years from now, even sooner if you move your butt.

Thanks for the kind words.

I plan to have that Mini before October (my birthday). I can afford it now but after driving the new version (facelifted) that is all I will buy.

Just been to Mini again now (forgot my house keys in the cooper) and they had a clubman parked outside.... the pricing is very similar to the normal Mini but the Clubman has a boot and proper rear seats and apparently doesn't understeer like the normal Mini... hmmmm... hehe
