I was bored with nothing better to do this afternoon...
So I decided to go for a little drive, destination: Franschhoek Pass:rollsmile:
After having to wait for 10min at a stop-n-go roadworks at the start of the twisties - Don't worry, I was right up front of the queue:=): - I blitzed that pass like never before!!
No cars in front of me, and no cars coming from the other side!as they were waiting at the other stop-n-go at the other end.
It was pure heaven!!!I think I managed to top 180/190kph at the "main straight" if you can call it that...yes yes insane I know, but hey, there was never gonna be another chance like this - ever!
After reaching the other side I pulled over for the car to cool down a bit.Immediately I could smell something "burning", but I didn't expect it to be the brakes!!!
There was smoke coming from the fronts! Not a helluva lot but definitely noticeble!
On the way back I eased off a bit on the brakes so as to not entirely F-them up.But I could feel the pedal feel was a bit mooshy/pap and the brakes didn't feel as sharp as before (I noticed this before I stopped actually while I was still having fun)
Did I totally wreck my brakes?or do they simply need time to cool off after such a run?
The service indicators still say brakes change in 30k km...I think its gonna be MUCH sooner if I keep this up:roflol::roflol::roflol:
I don't drive like this every day mind you, just conditions were so perfect I couldn't resist.
Here's a video I made, the smoke is only somewhat visible:rollsmile:
will upload videos later...sorry:sorry:
