cluck

e46 automatic....car is 'park', put in reverse and there is a a cluck noise below my seat. Put back in park, same noise, but when i put in drive...no noise...also intermittent...any idea what the problem is?

Have you checked the oil level?

I have a E34 auto and when it needs a 500ml oil it does the same and I get a humming sound as well then. This is just my experience on the E34.

You do have these back rubbers at your gearbox "cuplings" if its worn out bmw tent to make that sound...
