Circling back on this I did some reading.
There is a overlap in the production of the LCI cars on the MINI side - Post 2011 the Cooper S Hatch, Convertible, Clubman, Countryman and Paceman all got the N18 treatment. However the Countryman and Paceman got a revised cheaper Cam Follower based HPFP.
And up until late 2013 the Coupe / Roadster and JCW models of the Hatch, Convertible, Clubman and Countryman and Paceman had a special "canadian spec" motor which was a combination of N18 and N14 parts. So for example it was an N14 motor with an N18 intake for example but these motors still got the old 2007 HPFP.
Then in the last year of production it gets a bit muddy as the N18 motor got a proper N18 JCW motor spec which had the revised Cam Follower Style HPFP alongside the Countryman and Paceman in the Hatch, Convertible and Clubman bodies.
This is the normal HPFP, which is around R10k as you said:
And this is the revised HPFP which is around R3700:
I am not sure if Citroen / Peugeot bothered to update their pumps or if they stuck with the original expensive pump.
