The response to this charity run is very poor. So far, only 1 Fanatic has donated money. And hardly anyone has mentioned what they gonna donate thats on the list.

I hope the response and attendance at the event will be alot better than the one at the beginning of the year at Nazareth House.

Seems like people look at "known Charities" and not at people in need
It' a shame that 27 people need to live like rabbits in a normal one family home and no one seems to care as they rather donate for the Charities with kids on their websites.

I sincerely wish that no one ever has to live in such condition.

I will continue with this project no matter what comes out of this Fanatics event ....

:ty: to all who actually do help :joy:

I hope SMG gets a good response from their database, when they send out their emailer for the event

Good morning Grant,

The first thing is why is it the "BMW Car Club"? It´s a Chariyty run from the "BMW Fanatics". I´m not a member of the BMW Car Club!

Why they say "please bring a gift for the Charity" as a entry fee, why there is not the List of stuff they need?

Do that peoble know that there is a Braai planned and they have to bring their own food and drinks; or is SMG handling all of that including the food and drinks for the people of the Care House?

Natascha

There are a lot of questions that are still unanswered:

  • who brings a camping table or folding table?
  • who brings braai wood or charcoal for the braai?
  • who brings a gas braai?
  • who brings some more salads?
  • did anyone ask his/her butcher or baker for some stuff?

what else needs to be done to make this event as comfortable and pleasant for the care house peoble?

We are in urgent need of media contacts i.e. Tabletalk or Tygerberger or even IOL.
If we can prove media presence then Tafelberg Furnitures will also support our cause with household goods / white ware!

Hi Natascha, I also noticed that they used the club instead of fanatics. I told them the other day to add the wishlist as an attachment to the email, also told them about the braai idea and for them to bring their braai drum.
I'm gonna go see them later and remind them what the original plans were and still are.

I can't answer your other questions, I also wanna know the answers. The only 1 I know, is that Tertia (MrsBugger) is bringing more salads, as she mentions in her post.

I've only received 2 donations so far in my account. The 1 donation is for the 2 students wanting to study

I think the 2 most vital things are:
1. We need to get people to bring gifts and so on otherwise the charity will be disappointed and as most people will just come along for the drive.
2. We need to make that day as most hospitable as possible. So bringing the required items, as you said.

Rolls are not expensive so can I get an estimate of how many we need?
I'll go to Spar and see if they can make enough for the morning.
