Caring for your car VS Water Crisis

Hi Gents

Been wondering how you guys get around this topic. I wash my own car and usually start by hosing it off "properly," then applying shampoo and there after rinsing it with the hose 'properly" again. Usually would do this once or twice a week depending. This method of course uses a gazzilion litres of good water and I had to stop when I saw the reports on water scarcity in South Africa.

More recently I tried using the 2 bucket method but cannot get the car rinsed properly this way. It led me to using 2lt coke bottles instead...will fill the bottles around 8 times to get the job done but thats still 16 litres of water :dunno:

how do i get this done with less water? besides taking it to a carwash because that still means lots wasted water...

very good question, i use 2 bucket method and a pressure cleaner.

I have 3 cars and would ensure they are washed about every second week, but have resorted to washing my cars every third week now.

If you aren't able to consider a pressure cleaner as it does use less water, purely because it is able to get the soap off the car quicker then I would consider getting a decent hose attachment as i have seen some at builders that have narrower nozzles and would use less.

Am wondering how the 2 bucket method resulted in you struggling to rinse though..., 2BM still requires rinsing with hose, pressure cleaner or the like?

I wash my cars after 18h00 as prescribed, once a week. Using the two bucket method, with the pressure washer.
The rain last week helped at least with the garden, and to keep the pool level topped up.
