Hi Guys :=):

My car wouldnt start when I picked it up from the panel beaters. They say the car was standing for 4 days thats why ... But it didnt happen before even when it was standing for a week . Bat3 dead

Can you jump start a BMW ?? I was just concerned about the computer box , as many say sometimes the computer box gets blown ..... So the guys at BMW jumped started it and it started like a charm 1 go.... they say as i drive it will recharge

When came home switched it off and back on , It started but like a draaag start , and again same .. 3rd time it didnt start at all just like a big cluck noise on push start .. and obc was fading away .... but now obc ,lights working fine , radio also ..still no start

Is it only the bat3 a problem ? or should i be concerned about starter and alternator ?

And can you jump start a E90 (2007 Model ) , just worried about that computer box problems that while jump starting it gets blown ?

And it happened by the dealership , how can I make them liable for a bat3 coz this has never happend before .. It is them who ran it dead

Please advise . Much appreciated :=)::=): :ty:

Not sure about E90, but when i picked up my F20 they told me not to connect the jumper cables directly to the battery in the boot. instead there are two terminals in the engine bay to connect the cables to.

How old is the battery? is the car still under maintanance, if yes the battery should be covered.

Correct. E90 has a terminal in the engine bay, top-left somewhere. Terminal is covered with a red cap. One terminal goes on there, the other is usually grounded on the engine block somewhere.

Have you checked that they didn't maybe swapped your battery out? If you say this didn't happen before then have a look.

As far as I know, to jump start the car safely, use the terminals in the engine bay, but your lights on and rear window demister.

It's stated in the manual.

Engine bay not battery as the others said. They also list the sequence in which to connect the cables.

Hi there

I've jump started my E90 twice with no problems. The leads were connected directly to the battery in the boot.

Hi Guys

Thanks for the replys ... Yeah thats where it was connected under the hood (Red Cap ) , but some say its safer to connect to the bat3 .If you do it in the front , you may blow your computer box. Thats what i heard lol

So dealership took it to charge the bat3 and says it will be fine after that.

@Peanut 125 - Just out of maintanance and not sure how old it is ...was looking at the bat3 to see the date but couldnt find any , but it si a BMW battery

Not sure if they changed my battery it never happend b4 , but I want a new bat3 from them if its still not sorted.

Guys . They decided to replace my battery on their own will saying they had a new battery put in , to avoid any sissapointments on my side hhahaa:bravo:

But i dont trust them , because they may be plenty used bat3's lying around at the dealerships .

I need to check it nicely and ask them if its a new bat3 then you need to give me a guarantee on the bat3 1 or 2 years coz its new :joy:

how do check if its actually new guys expect looking at the date on the bat3 , but they can stick a new date sticker on a old bat3 saying its new

Thank you guys

There is a Number usually carved out on the top or side of the battery and specifies the number can be used to trace the manufacturing date as well as the Sell date to the Client.

should be something like 145/354 Example

This can quite easily kill your electronics if something goes wrong. Do not do.
