Thanks moranor, well aware that it's completely different engines, but it is just a guideline to what could possibly be the problem as I personally do not think both sensors can act up at exactly the same time, be fine at the same time and then act out again.

Unless the M52tu engine throws both codes if one is faulty?

Had a Golf 6 Gti sitting on my ass yesterday. Next robot he lines up next to me. Robot goes green and he guns it. It decided to follow suit, but to my dismay the car misfires as has been the story of late.

He opens up a gap and I just leave it.

Need to fix the car asap.

Wanted to read codes yesterday but forgot my notebook's power cable at home. Will check again tonight. Should receive the sensors by today or tomorrow.

Car going in for oil service on Wednesday. Will ask Colin to have a look around.

Had time to check the fuses this weekend. Fuses under glovebox are all fine.

Quickly ran codes again this morning before work. Camshaft inlet and exhaust sensor errors present (yellow mark at present and at shadow codes.
Got a call this morning from the couriers that my sensors will be delivered today. Won't have time to fit them in the week and maybe not even this weekend but will as soon as possible.

Also still have the fuel circuit changeover code in my shadow codes.

I really hope the sensors solve you issue, as those sensors aren't cheap.

What is the exact code / number for the fuel circuit changeover code? Does the car idle rough in the morning?

The car doesn't idle worse than it did. Idles a bit higher in the morning but settles once its warmed up. And if you drive while the car is still cold the revs do tend to jump up and down a bit. But the cars been like that since ive owned it.

Big suprise. After Timefreight phoned (7:30am) and asked if I was home yesterday they still didn't pitch with my sesnors. No harm as I wont be able to swop the new sensors this week.

@Phoenix. I will try and get the code and post it here. Its on my notebook and can't remember what it was.

So got the car back yesterday from Garage808. Excellent service as always!!

Me and Colin got to chat a bit and he reckons the car cutting out could be camshaft sensors as the crankshaft sensor error could make the car unstartable. Luckily that sensor is already replaced.

Received my sensors yesterday. Will fit next weekend or when I can.

Some things Colin pointed out that needs fixing on my car:
Diff bush (will contact Moranor)
Gear linkage, plastic holder for shifter ball (might check into that when doing e60 545i shifter upgrade)
And most depressing of all - the propshaft. Although the car hasn't started the dreaded vibration, I should keep my eye on it. Between R10 000 and R15 000 for a new one. Thats about 25% of the cars value.

Hopefully the propshaft is only the center bearing or the cv. These will be much cheaper than the full shaft.

My M5 had the propshaft replaced recently which was 10k if I remember correctly, I can't imagine it exceeding that.

It is the centre bearing but apparently its impossible, as far as I know, to properly balance the propshaft after you replace the centre bearing.

I know someone on the forum is attempting this. Will check that thread again

Car has been standing for a week now with a few seconds startup every day. Idles very rough and no power. As soon as I get home this afternoon im taking the entire VANOS unit out and cleaning it as well as the engine where I can.

Seems to be grit stuck in the VANOS unit from the engine flush we did. On the plus side the car doesnt cut out anymore after I replaced the camshaft sensors
