Car crash

Just an update : almost everything has been fixed (windscreen replaced, air bags replaced...front bumper replaced).....but I was recently told that my seat belt stalks need to be replaced in the rear ? WTF ? There is hardly anyone ever in the rear of the car. So I have no idea how the rear seat belt stalks could have been damaged considering the damage was at the front of the car. Anyway, they tell me that those components will arrive late Monday. So install will be on Tuesday and hopefully the computer system gives the car a clean bill of health.

So all in all, this is well over a 3 week wait. That Yaris sedan is annoying me every day now.

That is strange, maybe that is what they meant that the airbag system didn't deploy as it should have (if I recall correctly), as the rear seatbelt pre tensioners might have fired, that would mean that they would need to be replaced, that is of course if the rear seat belts have pre-tensioners.

I think they do. I guess I just thought that if anything needed to be replaced it would be the front seat belts not the rear. It's a crappy feeling not have a car. I've been getting lifts ...and I'm grateful for that, but still, not having your own car sucks. I just hope everything turns out okay next week. The last thing I need is the diagnostic machine telling me that my suspension is iffy....or that there are problems with the transmission. These diagnostic computers are extremely meticulous at finding small faults. Obviously, it's better to find faults and fix them than not, but that would mean more even more delays...

I understand what you mean, it just feels wrong somehow to not be able to drive your own car, and for me personally it even puts me in a bad mood, well worse than normal I should say :)
