Camaro SS better than an M4

So I just watched this video:

[video=youtube]

At the end, I could not believe what the reviewers were saying. Basically the BMW M4, the direct descendant of such great cars as the E30 M3, E36 M3 and E46 M3, is beaten in all the ways that matter, by an American muscle car?

An American muscle car that doesn't even have over head cams!

Not saying I don't like the n/a comaro cos I do...The //M 4 is not that bad,lol, they had issues launching it cos it is a manual car...as for the rest, guess they are entitled to their views.

German engineering always wins...

But this is an awesome video... the Comaro is a gorgeous car and for the price difference... a very good buy!

BUT //M tho...

I subscribed to these guys. Enjoyed that! Thank you OP

Yeah.... Americans are getting serious about handling... Watched a review with the M4 against a 2016 Cadillac ATS-V and Caddy also moered it... straight line and around the track... And what makes it even worse, the caddy is running a V6, not a V8. Times are changing.

The yanks are making some killer cars.

But id still have the Beemer.

PS i think the m5 would have been a better match up to the SS.

You're probably right, but the price tag on the chev8 makes it a bargain....makes me wonder why we don't get them here at half the //M4 prices

Exactly! It's like freakin opposite day or something.

And the Camaro is half the price of the beemer!

The SS is great would love to drive it, has a huge @ss engine though and in a world where we are downsizing and using turbo's to make up for the loss of bigger engine capacity the M4 wins all day every day. Would love to have both cars in the ideal world :rollsmile:

SS vs M4 here in JHB should be different though because of Altitude :roflol: .

The difference in fuel consumption is negligible: https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/Find.do?action=sbs&id=37098&id=36731

Totally agree, "a" :roflol::roflol:

The ATS-V is a v6 twin turbo, and beats the M in every aspect and is officially the first american car EVER i would pick over its German counterpart.

There is nothing like the sound of a v8 engine. But I do wonder how this review would have gone if this was done in lets say... Germany?

Think the only reason the m4 is losing is because of traction, the reviewers biggest complaint is getting the launch perfect, too low revs and there's turbo lag, too much and they spin spin spin.
