Buying a 135i

I have driven manual all my life and love it but this DCT gearbox looks like alot of fun :rollsmile:. So Im thinking of getting the DCT gearbox. But just a quick question hoosain how badly did you beat the x35's. What times did you and them do. Where both cars stock.

The dct is definitely a better gearbox you gonna have more fun with it so if you have the budget for it go for it
I only know what the one I raced had he had dp's ,charge pipe,dci and software I only have jb4
I ran 13.6 and he ran 14.1 track was very slipperry

Dct will be more expensive then th offer I have you on my car man.

Ok the most important question. With the DCT will you be able to do donuts and drift it like the manual.

Yeah you will be able to, buuuuuut the car may change gears when the revs climb. Its still an auto, no matter how manual it may be.
Someone told me you can definitely do it in a manual :fencelook:

Ok cool man thanks guys for answering all my Questions. Now my search begins Its going to be manual or DCT. Depends which one I find in my price range. They both sound awesome. I'm going to the dealership today to check one out. Thanks guys for all the advice you guys seem to really know your stuff :=):
For R250k I don't think you will be able to find a DCT, as it will have to be a 2010+.
I get around 8.6L/100km on the highway doing mostly 128km/h. Town driving is anything from 12 - 13 for my morning commute. The first 3/4 of my morning commute can see me at less than 10, but then the hills and traffic lights start.
I have a manual 2008 135i (bought in 2012) and love the car. I did find less than perfect roads to be a bit less comfortable than I expected from a BMW though.
I keep repeating this in almost every thread, so people must be getting tired of this. Extending your MP by time is relatively cheap (R11k-ish for a year). Add 15 000km with your 1 year and the quote climbs to R38k. Keep that in mind when doing shopping if you want to have an MP for as long as possible.
I also found that tyres are expensive as expected. The rear tyres also don't last nearly as long as I hoped
Torque is addictive.
Other than the HPFP issues early in its life the car seems reliable, both from personal experience and the research I did before I bought it.
The battery cable was part of a recall, so you should be able to get it replaced whether under MP or not.
If the HPFP fails outside of MP it should cost you around R10k. That's what the warranty claim was when mine was replaced.
Since I've had the car only a vacuum hose was replaced which was not part of the service.

Bud i recently got mine the car is epic. it accelerates unbelievably quickly you may had fast cars before but this thing delivers power in a very linear manner it makes for an excellent drive, the manual i find to be very rewarding when driven properly. Point to note this car will burn fuel faster then a fat kid eating a Mc D burger. but hey this isn't an econo box.
A simple remap will give a nice power bump. try to get the bmw performance exhaust with it. anyway good luck and please don't get a white one lol just kidding.
