I have a couple of ideas to just make my own LED angel eyes, I have 100's of superbright red LED's that I could use for testing.....

Angel eyes and bi-xenons are two differnet things, angel eyes are the rings that go around the lights, usually as park-lights or daytime running lights, whereas bi-xenons are a type of headlight. like xenon headlamp but with the added function of being able to also work together with the brights.

Guys... DONT rice out your bimmers with cheap parts.. you will spend more in the long run just getting it looking right.. do it once and do ir properly..

the difference between the crap from autostyle and the proper depo stuff from Umnitza is a couple of hundred bucks.. if you are trying to save a few hundred bucks dont modify a BMW.. sorry to say this but if you don't have the budget to do it properly you'll end up having a cheap looking car

So, If you DIY at least you are sure of the quality :)
The autostyle angel eyes look good, but they just dont last, the drivers for the rings burn out a lot.
Go for something more expensive, and preferably with LEDs.

the best AE's CCFL or LED are myCarr

do a search on e46 fanatics, there is a huge thread on the comparisons.

it was decided by most that the mycarr was better and cheaper than all the "brand" name versions, most of which were in actual fact, rebranded mycarr

I will not rice out anything on my car, but because i am very good with my hands i dont feel the need to pay more than i have to for cosmetic parts...
I am a jeweller and understand more than most about what a good finish is.
I also work with a wide range of materials and know how to finish them well...
I can take the crappy autostyle rubber strip things and probably finish them better than the Umnitza ones they will not be as bright but if it means i save 2.5k i dont really care...

yes its cheap but it will definitely not be nasty if it some how does not come out right it will not go near my car till its right if it never comes right ill just bin it.
i would also not buy that autostyle angel eyes if they only a couple hundred less hell if they not less than a R1000 i would not go near them...

i think he had some of those 3k jobs...

Nah dude......I bought them from a friend. If you want them i can get you in contact with him.....I think he has them now for about R800...But must check if he has stock...

It is very bright, I can actually drive with just the angels at night :)....

Got them on my e46 and also had them on my Box.....They look very classy and looks like the headlight came with them.....

im not sure what heat problems you talking about? The actual light itself or the resistor boxes?

The LED ones arnt to my liking. They look crap! I think i have the florescent tube ones. It looks much better as the rings are even in brightness....They havnt given me any problems thus far. I have them on for about a year or so....
