There's no rush to push off too early guys. If the traffic is going to be too busy along Chapmans Peak we can bypass and go to Somerset West and then the coast road from there.

or we can go the back route (reverse route), which will be no traffic, through chappies towards town etc....

We can meet you at the Engen 1 Stop on the N2, and anyone else that wants to do just the second half of the route.

I was thinking of it the other night to do the reverse route, cos of the cyclists and road works on Chappies in the morning.... A few of us have done Chappies on a Sunday at about 9:30ish twice in the last month or so and it was a pain with cyclists and the Stop/Go (20mins wait) on Chappies.
We should do the second half of the route first, but we'll do a vote at McD's and see what everyone wants to do.

They'll probably try damage your car like they threatened me last time.... The 1 picked up his bike and threatened to throw it onto my car.

Ok guys, so I've had a couple of queries about the route. Initially the route was going to be from N1 City, through town, across Camps Bay,past Hout Bay,over Chapman's Peak, through Noordhoek and on to the N2,through to Somerset West, along the R44 through Gordon's Bay and then hook up on to the R43 and head to Hermanus.
However, there are a couple of things we're going to need to take into account. Firstly, we are likely to be a relatively big convoy, which means getting on to Chapman's Peak is going to be quite lengthy, based on everyone stopping at the toll. The second thing is that at around 9am to 10am there are plenty of cyclists through Camps Bay and before, who,as car lovers and we all know this, tend to ride like they have 8ft wide bikes.
Third,it is a pretty long route, and will take some time. My suggestion is thus:
We meet at N1 as planned. From there we move out on the N2 towards Somerset West. At the bottom of Sir Lowry's Pass,we head out towards Gordon's Bay and the R44 and head along THAT route towards Hermanus. This will therefore allow us to miss the traffic in Camps Bay (along with the cyclists) as well as keep the convoy relatively close. We still get an awesome stretch of coastal road and we shouldn't be too hindered by time.
So this is one of the ideas I am considering. As always, all thoughts welcome:thumbs:

Guys be aware when you going into town before the Paarden Eiland offramp and before the traffic circle at the stadium...got 2 fines in the post yesterday R400 and R800 for 2 Sundays ago, just 10 mins apart in those areas and I swear I didn't see any police or cameras...
Pics look awesome tho but a bit pricey..:roflol:
BTW the one pic was taken from across the road...:flyfun:...

That's a better route as there will be less traffic and congestion...plus you get to spend more time in Hermanus...

Ok cool, then let's preempt that the run will be on that route and NOT via Chapman's Peak. I would recommend an Ice Cream run or VERY early morning run for that stretch of road.
My apologies to anyone who may be inconvenienced by the late notice.

Bud, I am gonna be there at about 8,8:15 latest as I don't want guys getting there and thinking we're off! Seeing as though we're not going via Camps Bay, we could probably depart around 9:30 or so,so the guys have time to take photos, introduce themselves etc. and talk lekker k@k!
