Thanks to everyone that came. Was a nice big group of 35 cars. We had 3 dealerships (SMG, Forsdicks and Auric) on the run, a big thank you to them for joining us. And for Junaid to bring his new M135i (fully spec'ed), which he took delivery yesterday. He left the 1M at home.

Who didn't see the Lambo Aventador at the robot?

Thank goodness the road block was for the oncoming traffic and not us. It would have delayed us.

Pity about the museum running out of food :nonono: and Paul's E36 328i overheating, both caused the delay of doing the rest of the run from the museum. Paul apologizes for the delay.
Both delays caused a few fanatics to go home early. We had 12 cars doing the Franschhoek pass, then down to 8 cars for the tunnel and Du Toits pass.

Bugger, ;) I apologize for us turning right, instead of left, at the Monument to go to the Pass.

I had 5 people in the car from Franschoek till we got home at my place, Paul waited for over an hour for us to come home. He had to sit in my boot :roflol: when I took them all home. 6 people in a 3-door 130i:

Charged-WP and I watched the GoPro footage now. Pity the battery died so soon. It lasted till the museum, I wasted 24mins of video cos I had left it on by mistake while we were at the Engen 1 Stop.
I got Nick to video the Franschoek pass with my phone, he didnt do the whole pass. Got bits of it.
I will get Philip to edit the footage of his GoPro then he can upload it. He needs to cut out the chats that NikSky, Six cylinder and I had throught the trip, and the wasted 24 mins of footage at the 1 Stop

I used almost a whole tank of fuel today. Did just over 300km's

LOL Grant, this is similarly what happened to me on last year's run to the museum - stopped at Engen and while I stopped the recording, I forgot to switch the GoPro off wasting juice! So by the time we got into Franschoek the battery was done! It was after this that I enabled the 60 sec auto-off when it is no longer recording.

Can't wait to go through the footage to see what I missed!! So jealous still!!

The looks on the faces of those kids at the end of the road was worth turning the wrong way, their eyes were popping out their head. I have a recording where you can hear them speaking and they are in awe.

As for the Aventador, wow! Pity the driver looked so smug about it....then again,I would probably look smug as well if I had one of those.

An awesome day all round it must be said. Dax, your car sounds wicked bud

I think we need spare batteries for all the GoPro's on the long runs.

Philip, u need to edit the footage when I'm on the N1 to permanently play in slowmo cos I was too fast. Lol

Next time I must drive in the middle of the pack to hear everyone's exhaust.
Driving in front I can't hear your exhausts.
I heard the F30 behind me in the tunnel and every now and then a faint whisper of someone else, think it was Dax's.
I heard Dax after the tunnel, just before we did the U turn. Very nice sound Dax

Took Paul’s E36 to SMG just now.

I live about 800m’s away from SMG, when I got about 40m away from them the car was almost in the red. They reckon its either the thermostat or the plastic fan by the water pump that’s packed up

It's a problem with the E36 328i. I had issues with a viscous fan that popped a couple times and the thermostat went once or twice. They aren't expensive fixes though. Hope it get's sorted soon. This is actually an easy DIY fix
