I could not help myself when a Boxster decided to hair past me on the freeway last week at about 22h00. He got caught behind a car and I must be honest, I don't know why I did this, I am normally quite reserved and relaxed, but I was overcome with testosterone and decided to let my normally calm easygoing 330i Cab free to gallop. When the car holding up the show moved, the Boxster went and so did my cab. Lets just say that I was as surprised as the Boxster driver. Did not actually realise just how fast this car is. If I was not going so fast, I would have offered the Boxster driver a tissue. I am considerate after all. :dropjaw:

Congrats though on putting him in his place though. These Porsche dudes think they all that. Seriously... We went to a Porsche meet and the arrogance was just plain dreadful. It was horrible being around those people.
These high performance vehicles (Unlike the Boxster) need to realise that modern BMW's, Audi's and VW's like your 330i, Twinz, TSI Engines and FSI engines and countless others are producing much more power then the good old engines which Porsche and others base their engines on.

The thing about a Porsche is that it is a great car and the heritage of a Porsche must be appreciated.

170Kw, 300Nm (E46). The car is very deceptive. It behaves like a straight A student but give it some heat and the straight A student acts like the good girl gone bad....... It is calm, tranquil with a slight growl, but give it a kick and it's almost as if it has been waiting for it, it just blasts off. It goes very well. Because I almost never let it run like that, I got a surprise. Correct maintenance, a bit of pride, and she runs like a jet.

Bloomsbury has a 996 GT3 going for R800 000 with only 40 000km on the clock :thumbsup:
P.S - The only difference between a GT2 and a standard Turbo is that the GT2 is 0.1 second quicker 0-100 and has a higher top speed of like 5km per hour. Other then that its the same car. Oh and its rear wheel drive (I think).
The 330i is a stunning car. I would have one in an instant but maintaining it could be entertaining...

- The rear wheel drive action which makes the car much more aggressive and some say exciting.
- Price (Its a limited edition, specialised vehicle. Like buying an Enzo).

I was merely comparing on paper performance between the two.
Handling, driveability and how they use their power are all factors that as you mentioned must be considered.

The Turbo is scary fast but very very well mannered on the road until a point and then it lets go and 90% of the time kills the driver.
The GT3 is more vicious. The rear wheel drive. Boosted power and torque and handling dynamics make it more involving to drive and a lot scarier.
The GT2 is a mixture of both the Turbo and GT3 leaving you with a composed car that can get nasty on you.
The above is what I have been told by Porsche owners and Porsche salesmen. :clap:

I assume this is because the V10 R8 give you GT2 power and is still just has precise as a Turbo. The R8 V10 is a serious piece of machinary according to every review and test I have seen.
