Hi guys, Keen to ask you fanatics for extra advice.
Recently purchased a 2003 X5, and when turning the steering wheel(with the ignition off) something popped/snapped and now the steering wheels turns, has a slight ratchet sound when turning, but the wheels/tyres dont turn anymore.
Is it possible to snap something so easily? In future wont turn with ignition off, but this made me think it could have even happened on a road doing some serious speed. Very worrying.
Does anyone know a good mechanic in the sandton area that could assist? If easy enough to fix on site (hopefully), else its got be taken off on a flat bed.
