BMW to go V6????

BMW is losing more and more of their tradition and in doing so, they are forsaking the essence of what makes a BMW, a BMW.
How long will it be until we see FWD Bimmers?

I think that they have resorted to turbocharging in an effort to reach emissions requirements where turbos perform better (in test environments at least).

I hope that they will still make a 6cyl, N/A, manual variant of the 3 series, even if it's not an ///M car.

With every passing day BM is becoming more Audi-esque :thumbdo::yuck:

Pandering to a new generation of owners/potential owners who only understand numbers, have no concept of automotive feel...sad days ahead.

All the more reason to acquire an E46 M3/M3 CSL - REAL BMWs

Reasons to consider going to V6 instead of I6 : Please discuss topics...

1. Torque delivery on a V6 arrangement is supposed to be better than
on an inline 6 due to the angled pistons. Force vectors...
2. The shorter smaller engine also creates space for turboS etc.
3. The center of gravity can also be a bit lower for better handling.
4. Engine height also decreases which allows sharper nose for better aerodynamics.

Only drawbacks i can see is no space for spanners...
1. Compactness makes it difficult to work on.
2. Special tools and procedures due to 1
3. Cost
4. Weight

I anyway thinks a NA V8 would be better than V6 turbo..!

BMW mightl do it even better, so i say go ahead and try..!
