BMW test vehicle spotted

Saw this yesterday close to Vanrhynsdorp of all places

Not really sure what it is. This was one of three vehicles all with "camo" and EU plates

I've taken pictures of the (then unreleased) new X3 a couple of years ago at the Vanrhynsdorp pumps. They have a yard in Upington from which they operate. I used to also get them on the Pofadder road as well as the sometimes share the Audi/VW test track.
