BMW SA's finding on a brand new M135i

Get a camper chair, some beers, a big sign, and go camp out at their center every Saturday morning.

Go and talk to every one looking at a car. Just offer for them to have a look at what their new car could look like when they receive it.

You guys gonna love the official response ... " Those that seen my car"

" With reference to your meeting with the BMW representatives on 7 January 2013, we can confirm that there were no inconsistencies found in the paintwork and to be within specification. This further confirms that no panel work was carried out on the vechicle as there is no evidence of related repairs or panel replacement

The panel gaps was also inspected and found to be within specification and allowable tolerances, for your satisfaction we will be happy to facilitate that the panel alignment be adjusted together with investigating the wind noise, misty headlight and rear interior light LED not displaying. At this time your concern surrounding the Sport Mode setting in the I-Drive screen selection can also be investigated and addressed. " etc

Yeah. thats basically a polite letter saying "fuck you"

Each time this happens there is a silent one back at them in the loss of a sale of probably 20 cars or more that they dont know about.

At the end of the day the wheel turns and one always gets justifiably screwed by ones own arrogance even if you don't notice it.

BMW, you should have just done what was required to make one customer happy instead of arguing even if you dissagree, but what the heck, argue on and the longer you argue the more potential buyers are put off till eventually it will make a difference.

My local dealer seems much more full of slow moving stock than it ever has before.....

Is this some kind of bizarre new hybrid marketing strategy where you dissatisfy a good proportion of customers and then compensate with hardcore marketing so you can say "profits are still good, so who cares!"

Unsustainable long term I think.

BMW go back and look at who you were when I joined the brand in 1990, look at the undeniably superior cars you made and how well you supported your customers then. I used to feel like royalty going into a branch, the brand and the product blew my mind. Today going into a branch I feel like a piece of dog*&^t with the attitude I get.

I really think BMW, you are riding on a legacy and a heritage from an older era. What I knew then and what I see now are not one and the same in any way.

I am starting to believe that the best thing about bmw is this fanatics forum. I have never before dealt with such an incompetent / apathetic organization such as bmw in my life. This thread is just another example of their disappointing attitude.

Time to change brands.... I am with you on this!

I hope this gets sorted for you.

The thing is, is this what is BMW really about?? Or is this just BMW S.A and like all other (well most of them) S.A organizations, just dont give a crap about quality and customer service?

:fencelook: sheezz guys, I am shocked at the lack of customer service and the arrogance displayed by BMW. I had a look at a C class years ago and I still receive follow up calls, invites to launches etc. I've been a loyal BMW client for the last 15 years, owning 6 BMW's during that period and even I am concidering looking at the 'other' germans...

 to quote you I also get calls from Merc, Lexus, VW and Audi......not a single one from BMW.
I have been on 2 VW launches, 1 Audi Launch - still nothing from BMW - and Ive owned BMW from 1984. Im getting very disapointed in the brand.

Just saw the fb posting... wow! speechless.... almost every panel is out!

When you bought the car did you not pick up these issues there and then?
I can understand missing 1 or 2 gaps in the moment of purchasing a brand new car but those are impossible not to miss.

Also did you sign the delivery acceptance sheet?
if you did then I can't see you winning bud... I've never bought a brand new car so wouldn't know the processes.

Good luck with the fight though!

With respect......when one buys a brand new car, the excitement is such that all you want to do is get in and drive, the whole handover process is generally a blur.
Besides a 'reasonable person' would expect the car to be perfect, it is brand new after all. Never mind that you've purchased a premium brand which BMW potray's itself to be.

Hence me saying I've never been fortunate enough to have bought a new car.

Still doesn't take anything away from the fact BMW's attitude towards this whole incident stinks
