BMW rear back board removing sun blind (HELP!!!!)

Hi

Please tell me some one had done this. For the life of me I can't figure out how to remove the damn electric sun blind from the back board which by the way weighs a ton!

There are only retrofits online where the pics have expired and the descriptions are vague. Then theres a couple of videos where the chop talks for 10 mins about cutting the backboard for his retrofit and then another 10 mins going on about some other random stuff and then it cuts to when it's installed.

Alex, are you removing the sun blind or are you installing it as i am also thinking of fitting one? Was looking only last week at how to install! If you are getting rid of it i may be interested. Thinking of swopping back boards with my son as his has an electric sun blind which he doesn't use very often, but he is not too keen on swopping.

I'm trying to remove it so I can send the back board in to be recovered. Not looking to get rid of it. Sorry. It's quite the retrofit as you'll need to wire it. And get a new switch up front.

Did you remember the 3x 8mm bolts holding the blind down? access them from inside the boot of the car.

I've got the thing out the car. But I want to remove the blind from the board. But I can't seem to get it off.

The blind has tracks which the board slots into.

I see that. So much I bend the board out of it? I'm worried about breaking it...

Shot gizmo. Bent the board out of the tracks. Now to pull the blind apart to clean it

Apply 12v to it to extend it. Then clean it.

You said battery and switch I don't have a switch.

You hook it up to the battery (how else are you going to get 12v?) to extend it.
