Got a 2006 with 70k on the clock. Has plan till July 2013. An exceptional car no problems with it as of yet . The fuel consumption will let you long for the frugality of a 760i lol

How about a BMW M3 2009, 88k on the clock, white for 400k?

lol

No second thoughts on that. E60 M5.
Go go go!! :=):

Awesome cars dude. Personally, wouldn't get one as a daily... and as everyone else has said already parts are pretty expensive. The same on any ///M car though.

It'll be something awesome saying you owned a V10 M5 - there's some heritage there.

@Rommies - The e60 M5 is a better buy than the M3.:thumbs:
Just get the M5. I know of a 2006 with Motorplan 'till next year at Global Autohaus in Randburg. R369k.

It sucks when u cant extend the motorplan, but there are some good motor covers out there, give them a call and find out what and how much they cover on items.

I'm also not crazy about the black, must admit, but I test drove that specific one. It was epic. :praise: Salesman took me on the highway. BIG mistake...:rollsmile:

Dude, there is only one word for the V10... MANIC!! What you get for the price is a bargain of note BUT I would never recommend owing one out of Motorplan.

My bro and I both have E63 M6's and in the passed 8 months the following has been changed on our cars under motorplan:

- both our engines
- my gearbox
- some of his gearbox internals
- his alternator

Total cost - in excess of R1 million...

So in my opinion, definitely one of the best ///Ms ever made but risky to own out of plan.

Can you tell at which branch this was done? My contact at BMW SA don't seem to be aware of this??

For what reasons were the engines replaced?

The only reason for engine replacement would be if you run it with no oil!:bangdesk:

I can see tears. I dont know why people dont heed the warnings.

I had a 2007 E60 M5 and in the 7 months I owned it, it cost motorplan over 90K worth of maintenance.

I wouldnt wish owning one out of MP on my worst enemy. Every single M5 owner I know has had issues with their cars. The MP claim history on my car was clean before I bought it. BMW replaced the clutch on 72 000km's and after that went for a ball of shit.

Even my Service advisor at BMW said that at any one time they have 2 to 3 M5's in the workshop for issues.

A 2009 M3 will be FAR more reliable than the M5, the M3 doesnt suffer from the same issues that the M5 did, which is mainly electronics and gearbox issues.

Do it if you want, but go in with your eyes wide open. For that price I would spring and buy my ex M5 which still has MP up to December this year, its going for R380 iirc. I can hook you up with contact details if you want.

And to say you drive an M5 too hard is like saying, "Hey, here is a gorgeous supermodel who is a nympho, BUT, you cant knob her" WTF ?

Oh and a big LOL at the guys suggesting aftermarket warranties. I dare you to find decent cover from any of them on an E60 M5, the ones I called are simply not willing to offer cover on the M5.

Since when does BMW SA have 1 contact looking over every single M5/M6 Motorplan claim.

I know of 4 M5's that have had engine replacements. Ask your contact if he knows about those.
