Bmw F8x M4 versus F10 M5

To those who have owned or driven extensively both cars. Is it me or are these cars more similar in character than say the previous iteration of M5 and M3. Or am I just smoking something?

Maybe it's the turbos

Edit: leaving performance out of the equation here

I would imagine that the M4 with the weight advantage would handle a bit better on track...speculation, nothing to back this up ofcourse

M4 is a bit of a drift car :)... Likes to burn rubber when that pedal is flattened

But the M5 will also do that.

I've driven the M4 and M6 convert, so not exactly what you are asking but similar.
I feel they are totally different cars. The M6 feels heavy, and understeers quite a bit on high speed bends. The M4 feels like a go kart, darting all over the place immediately and so responsive compared to the M6.
Only thing I'm not a fan of on the M4, I feel the rear is too light. On slightly bumpy roads, it hops all over the place. 2 other people I've spoken to said the same thing.

Sounds similar to the 435i. I think it's inherent with the 4er
