BMW F30 Changes for the worse?

It would be apt for me to update this post after my crits on the F30 320D...

Clearly the car was nice enough for me to go an buy a 2017 330D in October.

Or did I just learn to live with all those issues?? Makes me wonder if I'm getting old or just less full of ish? :roflol:

One thing that still annoys the crap out of me are the door seal squeaks...

The 335, 320D and 330D all have the same issue. Surely they could have changed the rubbers or design by now? *sigh*

Funny thing is, the wife's 118i has no noise? It kills me on the inside.

The squeaking rubber is a known fault with the f30s ,especially with the msport cars. Zambezi auto BMW fitted a certain type of 3M tape to both my mom and dad's f30's door trim and that sorter the issue out completely. Just insist that your dealer gets it sorted with the tape and after some negotiations they usually do it. The tape is see through,so the door trims remain gloss black and you really have to look carefully to see the tape.

A few months back I had a choice between 2012/13 f30 320d and 2011 e90 320d.

The interior of that f30 put me off and felt very cheap. Ultimately, it was the deciding factor even though the e90 was a lot cheaper. I wish I had that 8 speed gearbox but apart from that, I love the e90, and in a lot of solid ways, it reminds me of my previous e36.

But having said that, the f30 I tested was pretty basic. The sport line I looked at in dealerships definitely seemed to have better looking trim/quality.
That was unfortunately out of my price range.

My 2 cents:thumbs:

I had that squeaking doors on my F30 too... 2013 328i M Perf to be exact. Bugged the shit out of me. If i knew it could be solved with some simple tape i would of done it in a heart beat. h4tch3t i think you should do that bro!

Just read through your entire post and the electric steering thing stood out to me. Going from the F30 back to the E82, it feels like the E82 doesnt have power steering at all, i feel weak haha.

Before buying my car I was torn between the F30 and E90. The F30 had a much nicer interior style but weak in quality. I didn't get that solid BMW feel so with the E90 being cheaper it was a no brainer. I just couldn't justify paying more for a car while feeling like there were compromises.

My perfect car would be the F30 style interior with the E90 quality and 8 speed box..

Please could you guys share what 3M tape is being used. I really need this aswell.I complained about the door squeaks and BMW told me that the trims were not within Motorplan after year 2. Now I'm completely out of Motorplan and these squeaks really annoy me.

Wait for that door handels on the E90 to start pealing on the inside. Looks horrible and it comes off in chuncks:fencelook:
