Thanks for your quick response. My Brother has got a 320D and he was telling me he get 700+ KM on a full tank in Urban (Stop and Go).
Someone mentioned the issue of having run flats also adding to more fuel consumption, how tru is it?

Philip Foglar said:I gather from the signature pic you are talking about an E90 M3. So in that case I would think your consumption figure is about right, and judging what members with M3's above have said too. My 330i sees a lot of town driving mostly, so my average consumption is around 11.2 l/100 km. With more open road driving my best overall consumption was around 9.3 l/100 km, and that was still with lots of spirited driving, so could be slightly better if intended.
With regards to the oil consumption, if it is similar to the way the 330i works, the electronic dipstick work on a 1 ltr change of level. So minimum level it should have a +1ltr or so message. So then you literally just add 1 litre of BMW spec oil and it should then register as full to the maximum level - might take a while to register the change. How often in terms of mileage are you having to top up?
Thanks for the detailed quick response. Actually its a 320i LOL :=): (M3 on my signature is work in progress, ONE day is ONE DAY). I normally top up after 2 full tanks (thats about 1000KM). however when i top up i only buy two pints. Would you recommend buying 5L, fill the oil tank and then start monitoring?
No problem! LOL, M3 is also a work in progress for me - so +1 for ONE DAY!!
That does seem to be high oil consumption although the agents with probably say that it is within spec if it's just more than a 1000 km between top-ups! Crazy! What oil are you using when you top-up?
I normally buy Castrol synthetic for oil. Am planning on filling the oil tank to the bream and monitor it.. M3:thumbs:
