BMW E90 Front Brake Replace

7mm allan key is the only tricky tool.

You can buy a set from Adderdorff for very little money..

Im going to change the discs and pads on the 323i on Sunday, it looks so simple.

Did the brakes on the wifes 323i yesterday.

Its so easy. Took under an hour, the first one took around 25mins cause it was the first attempt, the other side was about 15mins.

You just need the right tools for the job.

Trolley jack
Wheel spanner
6mm allen key
7mm allen key
18mm socket (if i remember correctly)
Ratchet
G clamp

Don't forget the:
Screwdriver to remove the clip
electric screwdriver to make it 10 minutes quicker
bricks :=):
tea on the driveway :=):
turning the wheel in the correct direction

Anybody recommend proper brakes and pads? Sensors I will get from dealer probably.

This is for the front of the car. I would prefer if it is something that doesn't make a noise and has little to no dust. The oem has a Lotta dust.

Don't forget jack stands as well. Haven't seen that mentioned in this thread.

That I got a while ago.

Actually have 2 Jack's too cause I couldn't find a Low enough jack for my car in my price bracket. So bought a scissor jack to get the car high enough to use the trolley jack. It's a mission but somebody gotta do it.

It always seems hectic when such a small hydraulic jack lifts my entire car up in the middle.

Just replaced front and rear discs and pads with Febi Bilstein. Reasonably priced at Goldwagen and set me back R4400 and then some. Been driving with them for 2 weeks, quiet, no squeals or rattles. Simultaneously flushed the braking system with fresh fluid from BMW. Quite happy with the outcome.
