BMW E90 320d battery replacement

Sup guys .

Hope all is well .

After owning the car for more than 3yrs , the battery decided to show a signal on the instrument cluster .

What worries me is the price .. R3500 raylite for a 658 battery . Yasses is thus correct ?

Will Dixon or Willard suffice ? Varta is also dam expensive .

Any suggestions ?

I got me a replacement for my E90 325i from Battery Center. It was the original BMW 80Ah for R 1900.

I suggest you pop in at a Battery Center

Battery centre PTN gave me these prices .

Have to get it today . Can't afford to have issues .

At that price, I'd contact the dealer instead. BMW originals usually last the better half of 10 years!

Yes I do have an original . Varta with a BMW STAMP on it. My car is old now . 2006 model.

I am hoping a Willard 90aH should suffice ?

Yes it should suffice but, try and get the oem battery at a good price. You can also try John since they are now a Bosch center and will stock a Bosch battery I assume. Guaranteed he will hook you up a solid price...

dude I bought a battery 2 weeks ago for my e90 320d,

Auto Alpina boksburg was R3500, so to buy from battery centre for that price is ridiculous.

Sabat, Willard between 1500 to 1800.

Thanks guys .

Manage to get a battery at R1700 , 100ah , exide.

From Durban bro but thanks for the advice.

No, put in an 80Ah battery. They're R2k from BMW. I think they quoted you on an AGM battery. It may be that that's what your car came out with and those are more expensive. You shouldn't use the cheaper lead acid in a car that programmed for AGM.

Take a pic of the current battery.

I purchased a new 658 from Leo Haese BMW ( now Bosch) at a little over R2200, other shop were quoting around R1500( cheapest) to R1900( most expensive slightly higher Ah than OEM) so it was a no brainer.

Hi , thanks guys .

My battery light still flashed this morning .

Does this needs to be resetted?

I do have a big sound in the car .

Mine ('08 E90 325) needed to be registered on the DME.
Not sure if your car needs to be also.
It could also be as Ratslaaf pointed out.

Oh crap . How can I tell these people give me a return because I am sure they won't . I am from Durban .

Thanks Husa, I saw on Google , there is a way to reset the battery ? All I need to do is remove the negative polarity for a few minutes and reconnect , it should be fine ?

Guys , can the computer be resetted because I went back and they tested alternator and charge rate and they said everything is perfect .

Agents want R1200 ph to reset , surely there has to be an alternative .

That link I tried doesn't work

Hopefully there's someone with a cable and software in Durban who can assist, it should not cost R1200, Leo Haese quoted me R650 to fit and reset it.
