Battery replacement and coding for E90 320d

Hi gents

So my battery is gone, not charging at all essentially. Recommendations for replacement? Bmw says my Vin points to an 80ah, but are quoting me on a first national battery replacement not a bmw replacement.

Any recommendations for good alternatives and places that could do the registration? I'm in the Edenvale area.

Thanks!

I just replaced my battery yesterday, paid R3300 for a 90amp from BMW Midrand.

I can do the coding for you, takes 2 minutes

You can get a battery from ABM midrand or if you want to try Battery Cabin in edenvale.

I'm based in Edenvale and you can come around if you want me to register the battery for you

Thanks gents. I checked my battery and its the 80ah white battery (apparently non AGM) I ABM quoted me 2205 for a First National Battery replacement after the fanatics discount (though there is a surcharge included of 250 ex vat), sound reasonable or should I shop around?

@Danny@DSCmotorsport I tried calling Battery cabin but haven't been able to get through.

I bought my battery from Battery Cabin Edenvale for the X5. That was the cheapest good quality at that time.

Worth the try to compare.

hi guys,

just curious, what coding needs to be done? I've replaced my battery twice in my car and havent done any coding. Closest I could get was 90ah, i paid R2250 for it

When replacing a battery the coding is two fold:

1. Confirming the size and type of battery
2. Confirming that a new battery has been installed so that the alternator can adjust it's rate of charge

By not coding you are decreasing the lifespan of the battery
