Good day to my fellow fanatics!
Ever since my mom first got her E46 320i, through to my first Breakfast Run in Don's E46 I have always had a huge amount of respect and love for the E46 shape.
Even more so, with the Individual models, the style, sportiness and shape just compliment each other so well.
A fellow fanatic on the forum booked his E46 320i in for an Enhancement Detail and I gladly obliged.
The car arrived in good condition but was rather dirty, covered in several layers of dust including the wheels.
I began with soaking the mag wheels in degreaser followed by the arches, exhausts and actual tyres all being scrubbed.
The car was then foamed and hand washed and finally dried.
Let’s take a look at the damages:
As you can see, the paintwork was in quite bad condition with loads of very fine swirls as well as a few very deep scratches.
I decided to go for a Chemical Gus Stage 2 Correction, doing two passes per panel before refining with Chemical Guys Stage 1 polish to remove any micro-marring caused by the rather harsh stage 2 (Heaven knows how heavy the stage 3 must be).
The results were mind boggling with the actual shade of the car changing completely!
Look at the right side; I have not corrected the bootlid or bumper yet:
With correction out of the way, I re-washed the car as well as the engine bay and did a pass of Revive Glaze and two layers of Chemical Guys XXX Hardcore Paste Wax to give this result:
The exhausts were given a light sanding, and polished. The trim was Plasti-dipped by request from the customer with epic results and the wheels were waxed with Rim Wax.
The interior received thorough clean, leather moisturized and then the final touches before delivering the completed Beemer to a happy customer.
An enjoyable detail, with a fantastic car. I look forward to working on it again in upcoming months.
