BMW E46 318Ti 2003 - Oil on the Spark Plug

Good Dya Gents,

Can anyone help me perhaps with regards to my car.......i have changed my Coils on this car thrice.......i will be buying 6 cylinder coils as i heard they work better......

Problem at hand is that my 1st Cylinder, its spark plug was drenched in oil once i took it out cleaned it and put it back.(Made it super dry) also switched around my coils.

2 Days later took it out again yet again drenched in oil......what does this mean?

Rings on Piston to be replaced?
Valve Cover gasket to be replaced?
Spark plug gasket replaced?

Which part of the plug has oil on it? If its the top part, then you need to change your valve cover gasket, this would also explain why you needed to change coil packs so often.

most likely just teh gasket, should be around R800 to replace including labour

i had the same problem, changed the valve/tappet cover gasket but it wasn't the culprit.
