You are seriously the only other person that I know of who owns another one of the original 540/6's. According to a plaque that BMW provided when my car was bought new, I have no.72 of 75 built. Some other records state that there were in fact only 72 officially made and sold.

Anyway, enjoy your 540 and look after her, she is a rare beauty.

65k for yours is not unreasonable, i have seen them going for 80k (the 540M/6)

That interior is jaw dropping, and the car is gorgeous.

If you look after her really well, and keep her clean, its going to be worth a frikken fortune in the next 5 years.

She is a rare special edition, remember that, and she will serve you well :thumbsup:

I have another manual 540i,,
I curently own this one, (just dirty here... will put newr pics on where she is clean and she sits on 18" M-Parallel weels now)

I use to own this one,,, note it doesn't have ASC... I have the papers from BMW that said this is a development vehicle built in 1994 at Rosslyn, As far as I know this might be nr1 of 1 development 540i/6. Why did I sell it :banghead:

She had 310K Km on when I sold it and every thing needed a rebuild....

I tried selling my 540i, but the guy can't come up with the money. So I'm taking it back this week I guess.

OK .. I am now part of the E34 club again .. I re-possesed my E34 540i.. its a 1994 model, Calypso Red Metallic, custom exhaust clutchplate style... Its automatic, and I will probably be keeping it automatic ... until I find another 6speed box.

I will be painting it Estoril Blue soon and buying the M5 fenders and trim for it. I will be changing the interior from its current tan colour to cinnamon and black leather combo.

I will also be adding a single big turbo, GT42R most probably. or NOS. either one of those in the future. thats the plan at least.

Uber had some pics of it somewhere, I will try to find them tommorow... oh and the car is in EXCELLENT mechanical condition except for shocks, I spent allot of money fixing things. but the cosmetics have much work to be done.
