I am a darkie and very proud of this blog, also very interesting to read about the comments posted,i own a blue 540iA, bought it 3yrs ago,and have been pleased ever since,i did a trip to East london,on 1 tank of fuel (90l) at a max speed of 135km/hr, minimum speed was @ 120km on cruise control, the e34s are solid vehicles, less maintenance for it's age, it's currently now on 220000km,i bought it on 130000km,it gained extra kms when my daily car broke down.

Good day,

Joined the forum a few months back & only now have the guts to put "BIG RED" up for viewing.

Little bit of history.

Bought her 3 years back for R25k, I was looking for a 535i stick shift & got g@tvol looking. It's a M50 motor with 350k on the clock. (oil rings are now starting to go). I have a heart transplant in mind, would like a M30 motor & tune it to a Alpine B10 state. However bang for buck means I have to consider a import Lexus motor. (But then it's a BMW any more)

I've put on a freeflow (mandatory), dropped it with Jamex springs but, replaced the original rears has the ride was too hard. Now it's like she's going downhill (From the forum it apperas H.R Springs with Gabriel shocks are a winner). Scored a set of 18's with tyres for R3k:excited:

Have also scored a 540i interieor pretty complete for R1000 (still to be fitted) & a ser of e39 540 seats for R1500. (Also still to be fitted). With the view of upping the power I got a complete 535i rear suspension with LS for R1k.:dropjaw: (Still to be fitted)

She is a work in progress as I enjoy the mechanical feel of the E34, I still feel like I part of the car. I enjoy E30 as well but family means to small. (& twitching rear)

Work required:

- New paint job - (although not too bad in the pics)
- Brake upgrade.
- Fit 540 interior.
- Upgrade suspension
- Heart transplant.

With a self imposed R5k p.a budget I'm hoping that by networking on this forum it won't take 10 years for mine to look as sweet as Uber's.

Thanks Uber,

The photo's don't tell the whole story though LOL

B.T.W. Your ride is why I choose a E34 as it showed how sweet & distictive they can look without having to take out a 2nd bond.

Many Many props.

The guy that i got it from promised me a complete car.
Ended up taking the body as collatoral and having a huge fight just to recouperate some of my losses.
I never saw the engine:cursin:
But what goes round comes around.
He will suffer one day for all his lies however.
By the way, do you all think i sould mention this @ss' name?

Very nice collection you had there Fordkoppie. How did you find the crystal tail lights you had on the white M5 quality wise, did moisture/water leak in?

Fordkoppie,

Words can not begin to describe how green with envy I am!!!!

Why did you sell the white M & why are you selling the black one?:dunno:

I sold my E34 M5 4 years back & still have regrets.:banghead:

Any chance of a swop & cash differance???:thinker:

No thanks.
I really want an e39 M5 or an e36/8 M coupe.
I sold the white car, because to maintain 4 "M" cars means that i have to eat "pap en water" only.
I now want to get rid of all of them (the black e34 M5 and the e36 M3 that is left) and just get myself what i always wanted - The e39 M5

@ WyKid - i got the car with those horrible crystal lights, but had no issues with them. Swopped them for a std set from a "Fita" with a stuffed 530i a month before i sold it. He was over the moon and me also.hehehe

@zaleonardz - I sold the e28 body to another forum member - Isadore, but i told him the whole story, so that he knew what he let himself in for.
He was lucky enough to source a motor which i couldnt.

Hi Fordkoppie

That's an awesome collection, and I totally understand your anger. The world is full of dishonest people and these F#!@$ will definitely get their turn.

The reason i got the white e34 m5 in the first place was to strip it and put all the goodies into the e28.
However, when I finally got it, it was too nice to strip.:nono:
Everybody wanted to crucify me when I mentioned that I wanted to strip the white e34 (except Uber soldat that wanted some of the M bits:pimp:).
I assumed that it would be a rust heap, coming from Durban, but it wasn’t. I also don’t know what they did to it, but it was marginally stronger than any other e34 M5 I have ever driven, and there was no sign of tampering with anything including the ecu. Still the Black M5 was in a superior condition and decided to keep that and let go of the white e34 and the e28
