I like the bonnet stripes, but not that side bottom ones
I wouldnt park like that, people have more of a reason to bump into that car!
I take the end parkings and park half on the pavements if they are smooth , obviously not if its a normal pavement cause other wise id come home bumper less.

You know whats strange, everybody here recons they park as far from the crowds as possible. Me included! But if that was the case, wouldnt the furtherest parkings then always be the fullest?

It gets fulll very quickly and most people don't give a damn about their cars, well not even close to as much as we do about ours.

I prefer these stripes to the other one.

I always park like that. At canal walk I always park in these 3 bays, with a 3 sided wall. Only 1 other car can fit in. The only time I can't do this is at month end.
This area is on far side of the parking area on mezzanine level. It's always quiet on this level till month end. This pic was taken on a weekend. You'll notice how empty the bays are in the background

At other parking lots, I've had a dent on rear side panel and paint chip on door handle. This is why I park far away and across 2 bays

When there is parking available elsewhere I too park like that.
Anyone want to take it up with me?
Devon!!! If you park like that...and I need to park next to you...just know that you will have a few beautiful scratches and maybe a bump or two in your panels or even a bumper missing. A Toyota Hilux can do this very well

yes...people have no respect for cars at the mall...they seem to slam their doors in your cars etc. etc.
but parking like this is looking for more trouble...I have seen people parking deliberately next to the car on both sides...then you cant get in your car. (As they climb out on the other side) and they will slam their doors against your car because they think you are spiteful and return the spitefulness in many ugly ways.

I just suggest parking away from the cluttered crowd and parking properly in your space and try looking out for a "corner" parking as there can only park one car next to you...and the chances of them damaging your car is reduced.

Beware! I have seen people cried their eyes out because of parking like a mofo and people just get this idea, that you are spiteful ignorant A-hole and then returns the "favour"
It's not a pretty sight...and believe when I say you won't park like that again. The damages are normally quite substantial. And the pain and time to get your car sorted is just not worth it.

From what I've read here, that is exactly it. "My car is so special that I need two spaces to keep other people away from it"

Sometimes the lot is empty when you get there, and fills up.
Sometimes people with their nice cars hog the only piece of shade.
Sometimes they do that close to the entrance.

Just part in an undesirable spot and hope for the best. If you park as far away as you say you do, there is no need to park like a dick, as noone will want to stop close to you anyway.
Obviously 1M driver parked in a desirable enough spot that a Polo was right next to him.

I don't vandalise cars (or anything else for that matter), but if someone were to do it, I would not do one little bit to prevent or help catch the guy.

Re stripes- m colours always of it for me but this is a bit OTT.
The parking- I guess this is the guy who takes up the disabled , mother and child spaces too. And if he does that , then he probably litters, disregards the rules of the road and cheats the taxman too.

Can't be a fanatic hey.... Also, I don't get the reg plate of a car stating its model

A lot of mixed feelings here, but I ASH hit the nail on the head. Its an attitude.

UpnComings opinion of "who is going to stop me cos Im a large guy " says enough as well.

Yes, your cars mean a lot to you, but that doesnt give you the right to be a total Douche bag....Dont get me started on paraplegic parking spots as well...

Anyway, with me, Ill always pick a parking spot with two open bays on either side or alternatively try and park close to the cleanest best looking car in the lot, someone who looks like they car about there vehicle as much as I do

@ Jerez, you're a moron.. How can you generalize like that. Very small minded views IMO!!:fencelook:

I don't agree with taking up two parking bays.
If all do as they think is correct it leads to a nation that thinks their decision on regulations and guidelines are the only ones to follow. A nation of taxi drivers everywhere, even in car parks:rollsmile:
plus, this seems to be a 1er thing, mostly:rollsmile:

Don't we have this already?
Just look around you, and you'll notice we already have this situation. People hoot at me because I actually stop at a flashing red traffic light and they get cheesed off because I stopped. In my mind the parking issue, is a non issue, it will not cause a big accident and possibly cost a life or 2... Unless it's month end at Menlyn and people start a gun fight over a parking spot. :dunno:
