I never park like that intentionally. :fencelook:
I don't take the 1M to the mall or any shopping centre for that matter.
The stripes :nono:

I try to park far away from the entrances of the mall, or next to a pillar on one side. That way that reduces the chances of anyone parking next to me.

I have preciously shown you some pics of a 1M in Johannesburg with large diagonal Motorsport stripes over the length of the car but now we see another 1M with a different take on the stripes. Yes even though the car comes complete with a doucheplate and the owner clearly cannot park for sh*t it still looks pretty rad! If you had to choose between the two, which would be the one? I would have to go with this one because it is a little more subtle..

Being the actual owner of this car, and followed all the reply's and comments to the thread, I have the following thoughts and comments in reply;

@zero2turbo - Not that I need to defend myself against an idiot like you... At the time of you taking this pic, you would have noticed that there must have been 50 other parking bays open much closer to the shops. I purposefully park as far away from everyone else for the simple reason of not having my car unintentionally bumped by another persons car door. (Prevention is better than cure). In addition, you would also have noticed that I was literally there for 10 minutes. Any longer I would have taken one of my other modes of transport, as this is not an everyday car for me! Regarding the license plate, if you've got nothing constructive to say then rather keep your simple minded jealous thoughts to your self!

@ All the constructive thoughts and comments, thanks all .. As some of you would know, I posted pics of my 1M over a year ago and got mixed feelings and thoughts back. Thing is this is a very unique car and I thought to myself why the hell not... They are removable and if I get tired of it or sell it in the future, no issues or fuss!

The stickers are based on the artist rendering by Jon Sibal who pre-suggested what a 1 Series M derivative would look like, way before BMW released their official pics.

If you need to park next to me Llewelyn, then there is obviously no other parking or you want to come piss me off by finding me at the furthest point in the parking lot. Ha! Ha!
And then I'll find you and slam you cock in my boot and drive off! :roflol:
:biglol::biglol: lol lol you funny bro....

but unfortunately your boot won't close! My dingaling is harder than mother nature itself :fencelook:

Ps: back on topic
I quite like the stripes! Something different but still good on the eye and doesn't look "cheap"

very nice I say

I would just like to add: I understand why you park like this and I have also done it in the past, there is however a problem. As you can see most people think if you park like that you are a poepol or whatever and in some cases people will damage your car on purpose just for parking like this. I have heard of this happening on a friends' car. This type of parking does decrease the risk of some one dinging your door but certainly increases the risk for other types of hooligan behavior and possible damage.

I like the number plate.
Lots of people have asked me, "is that a 135i?" :flyfun:

No need to get defensive... I was sent the pictures I did not take them. As I said I like the car just not the way its parked. 'Doucheplate' is a term used to describe a personalised plate in SA and if it makes you feel better I have one too... Its not a dig at you as a person... Deep breaths!

Point taken, :ty:
As mentioned, I usually park so far away, that is is almost an incentive to park next to me

It is sad that there are ppl out there who are so malicious. If I were to park in disabled zones or dbl park in bays that are more convenient to shoppers, I would almost expect someone to take offense.

Time for 2 cents...

I understand where your point in this matter lies (the parking)...

However.

There is another car close by. He could have been next to you if you parked properly. And another car next to him. You never know. An empty parking lot does not justify disobeying the rules and etiquette of using the parking lot, unless maybe it's 02h00am and therefore not during business hours.

This is like taking up 2 seats in a free-to-sit-anywhere cinema. Even if it's empty. But if a guy who always sits in the one seat that you've taken up with your jacket and popcorn comes in and wants to sit there, you can't tell him that he may not. It's not your cinema, nor is it his. But it's free-to-sit-anywhere, and he wants to sit there where a person is not occupying the seat for himself.

Parking like this breaks etiquette. With that kind of thinking, why can't everyone do it? If everyone had to do it, parking lot empty or full, it would soon become normal. And one day the parking lot is full of guys parking how they want. It starts with one...

And you won't like it.

With parking like a d*ck comes the possibility of damage to other vehicles.

Have I told you guys about the woman who slams her Porsche's door into my car in the parking lot EVERY DAY??? No matter how far from her I stop, she always manages to park so badly that it causes damage to my car.

See it this way. You see a guy parked like that. You think "what a d*ck". Now imagine if that d*ck were you.

This just reminds me of Gupta-mode, we park anywhere and don't give a f%ck how. If you guys think parking like this is ok and acceptable, then its no wonder why BMW drivers are hated and referred to as douchbags, this certainly contributes to it.

I take care and appreciate my car, but that does not give me the right to drive or park like an ass. The doors on the E92 are so long and awkward even still,I refrain from this sort of boorish behavior associated with some Bmw drivers.

Mixed feelings here, I don’t particularly agree with people who park like knobs… but in this case I understand 110%.

When I use to drive my M Coupe to shops and such, as a good citizen I parked normally and eventually the Coupe would be surrounded by other cars.

This however left me with dents in both the driver and passenger doors, clearly made by a car door slamming into it.

Because of this I don’t use the Coupe as much as before and that is a shame.

So, some criticism in this case is better than damage to a great car.

I've never parked like this and not even at 1 or 2 in the mornings.

Yes i park as far away as possible and when you do that people come park there also, maybe they have the same idea who knows.

Simple fact of the matter is you will NEVER be able to keep marks off your car when you use it. If you don't want marks on it don't take it out your garage.

We all love our cars but to be honest parking like that aint making it better and yes you will get someone one of these days that woke up in a kak mood and you will end up with a mark way worse than just a door being opened onto your car.
